Meet Marcos DJ COS | Dj & Pod cast host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcos DJ COS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcos, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have had plenty of 9 to 5 Jobs and they are cool and all but for me I wanna love going to work ya know. When you love what you do then it doesn’t feel like work. I love to DJ and to be 1 of the reasons why every one had a good night, and getting paid to do that is just sweet!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am 100% most proud of the work I have done to help the Colorado music scene grow! From the work I put in at GSS , DINGS & COS RADIO and now TURNT UP TV I am proud to say I have worked with 100s of artists and helped get alot of new ears on Colorado Hip Hop. It was not easy at all and alot of people helped me give artists a platform to be heard on. I am also very greatful to the artists that have let me share a stage with them at some really big and fun shows over the years. My ultimate goal is when Colorado hip-hop gets the recognition it deserves and really gets on the map, that people will look back and say DJ COS played a part in making that happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Me personally I think Colorado aint Colorado with out the mountains so gotta take a drive up there and experience the true Rocky Mountains. On the way up gotta hit the original Beau Jo’s pizza in Idaho springs. On the way back stop in Black Hawk try and win some money. Food wise there is tons of gems in the city but some staples are Chubbys, Burbon Grill, Welton st. Cafe,Pete’s kitchen and for the fancy meal Shannahan’s. Gotta hit Herman’s Hideway, The Roxy, The Blue Bird and Cervantes for all the dope local shows. And of course If you can gotta go to a Broncos game!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people I can shout out and give credit to helping me in my success as a DJ but there are definitely a few extra special ones. 1st off my kids…they are my heart and soul and make me strive to be a better person every day. After them 1 of my best friends and mentor in the DJ game DJ Dings. Another great friend and business partner is Lance aka Mr. Turnt Up Tv! Also another person very close to me and some one who has been there for years and actualy helped me buy my first real dj setup is Amber, we had alot of ups and downs but she always supported me with this dj life and I am forever greatful for it. And lastly shout out to DENVER! THE BOXX! I am nothing with out the city and the people in it.
