We had the good fortune of connecting with Markeyon Wallock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Markeyon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was a little nervous but I knew it had to be done.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
BWYB is an acronym for BLACK-WHITE-YELLOW-BROWN designed to bridge racial divides, ease racial tensions, bring good people together regardless of their race, culture, ethnicity and promote diversity, equity and Inclusion.

Before BWYB I had no desire or the will to get into art, when BWYB was born I had little and no resources to go around so I resorted to doing quite a few things including the Art work myself to get the brand out there because I felt like the message is really needed especially with the current social issues out there.

I am very proud to not only see many people from all races, cultures and ethnicities embracing my vision and it was also good to confirm that their a many people out there that feel the same way I do they just didn’t have a platform or a way to express their feelings.

I’ve learned many things along the way but the thing that stands out the most are the many “Sacrifices” that’s required as a small business owner

BWYB is the number one brand that’s designed to build bridges to bring good people together, stand with BWYB

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to do in Chicago and not to mention the food. I would start in Bronzeville at “Dirty Tiffs Jamaican & soul food restaurant” for lunch, then head to navy pier to ride the ferris wheel, maybe do the architectural tour of the city via a boat ride, then off to greektown for dinner.

Day 2- we would head to Chicago’s loop, preferably to the historic state street for some shopping, check out ” The Chicago theater” then to little Italy for lunch/ dinner

Day 3- we would head to the magnificent mile to check out all the high end/ luxury stores, full day lots of walking then to “Jets Pizza” for lunch, you might be too tired to eat dinner lol later that evening we would head to rush street for a little night life at the “Escalabar”

Day 4- Full day tour a the Chicago museum of science and industry
Then to Hyde park for dinner at the “14 Parishes” Jamaican restaurant.

Day 5- Head to the Northside to Lincoln park to IFly for some indoor skydiving then to “Fogo de Chao” downtown Chicago for dinner then back to the house of blues for more nighttime fun.

Day 6- We would head to the Willis Tower
(The tallest building in the US) tour
The check out restaurant 48 for lunch/ dinner then back to rush street to the “The Primary night Club” for some house music.

This would be one of the most unforgettable weeks of your life
