We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt & Kiwi Callahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt & Kiwi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The story goes: One night while watching TV (and after a few glasses of wine), we got hooked on laughing at how hilariously bad — and stunningly similar — all of these made-for-TV holiday movies were. In a Eureka moment, we ran to the kitchen and grabbed a notepad and two pens, and scribbled down what ended up becoming the first Bad Christmas Movie Bingo board. What started as a small holiday tradition for us personally soon spread amongst our friends and family, and has continued to grow in popularity ever since.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As much as we love Bad Christmas Movie Bingo, it’s actually our side-hustle! Kiwi and I co-founded a creative agency, Delphi, back in 2016 with the goal of providing small-to-medium-size businesses the kind of cutting-edge design and marketing services normally reserved for much larger organizations. Having grown to 10+ employees, we were able to thrive during the pandemic slowdown by listening to our clients, being flexible, and laying the groundwork for the next decade to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Although we grew up in Fort Collins, we have lived in NYC for more than a decade — so our knowledge of Denver nightlife and activities is sorely lacking 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our close friends have been incredible supporters during our transformation from a small, personal holiday pastime to a full-fledged product that’s sold in stores. They’ve tested and provided feedback on the game’s content, packaging, messaging, marketing materials and more — and have helped spread the word on social media.
