Meet Michele Coombs | Business Coach for New Entrepreneurs

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Coombs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I just knew. Working a desk job, no matter how good of a job, was never fulfilling for me. At the time I made the jump I was actually in a job that I really liked! Amazing company, great team, and ample opportunity for personal growth.
But the calling was there and I just couldn’t keep pretending it wasn’t. Ignoring it was no longer an option. It didn’t make any “sense” to leave but I was feeling more and more as if the walls were closing in around me. I believed deeply in my own potential and knew that the longer I waited the more opportunities I was going to miss. I’ve always known that I had a Dharma and it just took me this long to believe in myself enough to go for it!
Learning my Human Design was definitely a part of this process. See not everyone is actually made to be an entrepreneur! We kind of glorify it, but most people are much better suited for partnerships, groups, and working on teams in companies. It’s all about the best way to use your own energy and the kind of support that you will thrive with.
I was so excited and relieved to find out that I actually do have the “entrepreneur gene” and, once I knew that, I decided to embrace my destiny! The most fun was realizing that I could take all of my previous experiences and learned skills, on and off the job, and combine it into this really unique offering that I have now.
The best part is that being a branding and marketing coach for entrepreneurs using Human Design…is EXACTLY what my Human Design says would be my best work. Some days I get so excited that this is my life now. I get to spend my time helping people find their true soul, their gifts, their own spark and then we work together to share that message with others. It’s the greatest joy ever ❤️
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m here learning to be myself. It’s a long road sometimes, Spending so many years pretending to be someone else, someone smaller, less opinionated, quieter. Human Design fits into my story by giving me permission to be myself! When I dove into my own chart I realized that all of the character traits that I’d been taught to minimize were all of my greatest assets!
I think that happens to so many of us. But being yourself is the best branding strategy! So I’ve used my HD chart to plan and implement this business from the ground up and it’s awesome 💫 As I have more impact and get onto bigger stages, I can share this message that there is, in fact, and True You that’s ready to emerge and tell a unique story, one that they’re born to tell.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To have the best time we would definitely start with a beautiful walk on the Highline Trail! With this gorgeous summer weather, we would definitely want to get outside.
One of my city favorites is the Denver Art Museum. I love the space and variety of arts on display. There’s always something for everyone and their gift shop is THE BEST!
We would definitely get a dinner at City O’ City vegan restaurant. I’m not even vegan, but I still love to eat there!
No summer in Denver would be complete without a whole lotta yoga! I would do any and every class with Denver Yoga Social. Rooftop yoga, yoga with beer, yoga with tacos, puppies and even baby goat yoga 🐐 Always a good time.
Then, of course, a show at the Red Rocks is a must. I like to make a whole day of it. Go early, walk the trails, tailgate with a good picnic, and enjoy a one-of-a-kind show experience. Most of my besties are music lovers like me, so there would be plenty to choose from.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve been blessed with an amazing community and teachers. My first business and spiritual mentor was Rachael Jayne Groover. She teaches “business as a spiritual practice” and has showed me that it’s not all numbers and strategy. Bringing your True Self into your business is the key to success and long-term joy in business.
My Human Design (HD) teacher, Baeth Davis, deserves credit for this pivot of my life into coaching specifically with HD. She showed me how deep this rabbit hole can go and that being yourself is the best possible marketing strategy.
My current community, the intelligent, ambitious and kick-a** ladies of The Village Workspace co-working are my daily light. They are there for celebrations, questions or just a cocktail at the end of a long day. I wouldn’t be here without them!
