Meet Michele Forsberg | Pelvic Physical Therapist, Owner of Align PT, Founder of FeminEnergy®, Women’s Health and Endometriosis Advocate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Forsberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Since my career has felt like a continuous evolution, it’s difficult for me to imagine an endpoint. But at this stage, I’m drawn toward a transition from practitioner to educator and advocate. What excites me most is the mentoring work I’ve been doing with the physical therapists on my team- watching them develop their skills and helping shape their career paths has been deeply rewarding.
Looking ahead, I envision developing a comprehensive training program that emphasizes holistic care for women’s health, particularly around endometriosis, which has become a real passion of mine. There’s such a need for specialized education in this area, both for healthcare providers and the public. I want to help bridge the gap by training the next generation of therapists while also expanding into advocacy work that helps women better understand and connect with their bodies.
Ultimately, my legacy goal is to multiply my impact. Instead of helping one patient at a time, I want to equip other practitioners with the knowledge and approach to serve many more women, while simultaneously raising awareness about conditions like endometriosis that are too often misunderstood or overlooked. It’s about taking everything I’ve learned over decades of practice and ensuring it continues to benefit women long after I’ve stepped back from direct patient care.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Align PT represents everything I’ve learned about what truly effective healthcare looks like. We specialize in helping people who’ve been let down by standard therapies—patients who’ve been shuffled around, rushed through visits, and left wondering why they aren’t getting better. What sets us apart is our holistic approach and the time we take to truly hear each person’s story.
I started as a solo practitioner in New York 25 years ago, then moved to Colorado and opened Align PT in 2012. The practice has continuously evolved—in 2019 we expanded to include a mind-body studio with fitness classes, though we had to pivot during the pandemic to focus on specialized workshops instead.
Was it easy? Absolutely not. Building a practice that goes against the rush-them-through model means constant education about why our approach matters. We’ve had to prove that taking time with patients actually produces better outcomes. The pandemic forced us to completely reimagine how we deliver care, which was challenging but ultimately made us more innovative.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation for excellence in holistic patient care that we’ve achieved. I’m also proud of developing our innovative programming: FeminEnergy®, Fully Aligned, Thriving With Endo, and our endometriosis advocacy work. In 2023, we hosted the premiere of ‘Below the Belt’ to raise awareness and funding, and I’ve been speaking on panels about this often-misunderstood condition. We’ve also integrated unique healing modalities like our vibroacoustic table, which delivers therapeutic frequencies to calm the nervous system.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that healing isn’t just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about seeing people fully and creating space for their bodies to remember how to heal. I want the world to know that Align PT represents a different way of practicing healthcare, one where patients aren’t just heard but truly seen, and where we’re committed to uncovering the root causes rather than just treating symptoms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I’d have to take my friend to our studio to have a blissful experience on our vibroacoustic Sound Lounge, and then we’d head to downtown Longmont, either to the Roost rooftop or Teocalli for dinner. I’m hoping there’s an art walk happening so that my friend can take in the local flavor of the wonderful city we live in. We would have to stop at Sweet Cow for some ice cream and a stroll around Roosevelt Park.
An early morning trip to Rocky Mountain National Park for a hike up Ouzel Falls (one of my favorites) and then lunch in Estes Park, perhaps on the porch at Claire’s. Then, a stroll around the Stanley Hotel and take some selfies.
A short trip to Glenwood Springs to relax at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs international section and spend the night at Hotel Colorado for another historic hotel experience.
Pearl Street Mall in Boulder is another stop, dinner at Japango, walk around the mall, maybe head to Peace Love and Chocolate for a frozen hot chocolate after dinner, while we shop and enjoy the beauty.
Another Hike at Brainard Lake/Lake Isabelle for some moose sightings, pack a picnic lunch, and then head to Acreage in Lafayette for sunset yoga, followed by dinner and drinks. (If they’re tired from the hike, we can just enjoy the sunset and food.)
We’d have to get tickets for a Red Rocks concert with a full-on tailgating experience.
Next morning, paddleboarding at McIntosh Lake, followed by beignets at Lucille’s in Longmont.
If there is time, we can explore all that Denver has to offer. Maybe the art museum, a show at the Beull, or just dinner and sightseeing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Over my 25+ years as a physical therapist, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to study with exceptional mentors and teachers—true pioneers in manual therapy who fundamentally shaped my approach to practice. But my greatest teachers have been my patients. Many have maintained relationships with me over the years, and the trust they’ve placed in me has been both humbling and motivating.
I’m deeply grateful for my husband Jef, who co-runs our practice and has been absolutely essential to everything we’ve built. He handles our IT, HR, scheduling, and serves as both my inspiration and greatest supporter—truly the backbone of our operation. Our daughter is the reason we do all of this, and watching her grow into the remarkable woman she’s become continues to inspire me every day.
I also want to acknowledge our team of physical therapists and trainers who bring such passion to their work and consistently go above and beyond for our patients. We’ve been fortunate to work alongside truly excellent practitioners throughout the years, and their dedication has been integral to our success.
Success is never a solo effort—ours is built on the foundation of great mentors, trusting patients, supportive family, and a committed team. I’ve been fortunate to have all of these elements.
