We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Gean and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was working as an editor at a publication when several writers came to me with book ideas.
They wanted writing guidance, and they needed an editor.
I wanted to help everyone, giving each book the time, deep care, and attention it needed to get out into the world.
That’s when Book Writing Accelerator was born.
I created a methodology that would allow several authors to write, edit, and publish high-quality books.
The rest was history.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Entrepreneurship is never a straight line, which is what makes it cool and also so counterintuitive to the way we have grown up. We’ve been taught to extent that if we do, we will get y. In entrepreneurship, you can do X and you don’t always get Y as a result. That part of entrepreneurship tests my ability to adapt and solve new problems every day because every day is truly different.
Book Writing Accelerator is different from other programs in that we take the time to nurture you as an author, giving you all the resources you need like access to top published authors and the best cover designers and editors. We even edit your entire book! It’s really hard to find a program that offers you all of these things in one place while also deeply caring about your inner purpose, fulfillment, and mission.
Behind the tangible results of publishing the best books, our deeper mission is that this writing heals both the authors and the readers. That’s what we are up to at Book Writing Accelerator beyond just getting your book out into the world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh, wow, there are so many wonderful places to go in Denver and the surrounding areas.
There would be lots of hikes, yoga classes, salsa dancing/dancing, and adventures on the itinerary.
A jam-packed day might look something like this:
Yoga class
Walk to breakfast at Death & Co (Yummy burritos)
Coffee at Hearth for the drive to the mountains.
Drive out to the mountains for some epic views and a little hike
Lunch in a little cute ol mountain town w connection with great friends
A Writing workshop & lakeside meditation in the mountains
Drive home and quick change/nap
Dinner at La Foret
Salsa dancing lesson
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The authors who have gone through the bootcamp are some of my greatest supporters, and I’m so so thankful for them.
