We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Matli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I had strong family values growing up and that has really helped in my adult life being the best father and husband I can be. I’ve gone through a wide range of challenges and adversities throughout my life and alot of those times I had to get through them on my own which I believe is why I have a strong character now.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So for the past 17 years I’ve been driving trucks both over the road and now locally. It was in 2016 when I decided to develope a gym apparel line. It started as an Italian American line which is part of my heritage, hence Stallion Squad. As time past I realized that I need to share my passion for fitness. It has been a really exciting ride as I’ve met many people and even have sold apparel globally. For the first 4 years I basically did everything myself as far as the company goes. Starting in 2020, I started to form a team which helped lead to a broader online presence. So shoutout to Cowboy, Larry, Pablo, and Joey who have been my day ones. I am grateful for everyone on this team as we have about 10 members right now. I recently added my boy Dalton, as my VP and he has helped us reach some exciting new heights. We recently held a fundraiser for the 14th Hour Foundation at our local VFW. That’s what I’m excited about, is giving back to the community and really just networking with different people. The Brand will reach success through the hardworking and sacrifice thatbeach one of us puts in.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly I’m so busy I don’t have much time to do extra things but if a friend came in we’d probably go up to Garden of the God’s or Cheyenne Canon for some nature. If there was a festival or some type of event like the Italian Festival, we’d definitely have to check that out. If it was my friend who lifts, we would get a session in at Flex of course 😁 For food definitely Paravicinis for some authentic Italian .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost my Wife, Jasmine, who has supported my journey as well as my family. Also I am really thankful for Jeff and Brian at Flex Gym Colorado Springs for the support they’ve given me the moment I walked into their gym. Really there are so many people I’ve met that have shown support in the last couple years, it’s almost unbelievable. Also I want to shout my team from my graphic designer to my apparel team. Everyone is so awesome!
