Meet Mike Thorson | Hope dealer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Thorson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, what do you attribute your success to?
The success behind our brand comes from work ethic, passion and purpose. In 2018 I was dealing with my own health issues and couldn’t find a resolution. I started researching natural remedies and I was interested in CBD products and what it could do for me. I am originally from Colorado so I had experience with the plant as a young man. I have always been connected to the plant in different ways growing up. Once I tried CBD for my own health issues and saw the results that I received, I knew I had to do something with it. Our business opened in 2019, I traveled around the area for 3 months doing presentations and events. Within the first three months we earned enough to get an actual store front. Since opening our store we have been working with the local community. We are passionate about helping others in our community. Our company has donated close to 500 meals, clothing, gift cards. This last year was our fourth community giveaway, we have given out turkeys or hams to families in need each year that we have been in business. Our purpose is to remove the stigma of these plants and for our community to have the information they need to make educated decisions regarding their health needs. We hope to create a better understanding of CBD products and the benefits that they have for our daily lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
We have always been dedicated to quality of our products. We started our lineup of CBD Products CBD oils and CBD edibles and they have been assisting a wide variety of ailments. Our most exciting or our proudest moments come from our customers changing their lives. Their success with our CBD products is the best feeling, knowing that you are giving someone their life back. No word’s can justify that. Getting to where we are now wasn’t easy, due to the pandemic. When the pandemic and closures started we had only been in business for a year and a half or less. We quickly started an online store and started shipping products. We have always offered free delivery services within our metro area. We didn’t have to adjust much due to the work we had been doing with the community.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand story? We are here to help you with anything that life is throwing at you. Being a small business owner means that you grow a connection with your customers, they become family.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my wife and kids for all they have had to sacrifice for me to build this business. I appreciate you so much! I would like to thank my mom and dad for always offering to help financially. Although I didn’t take the offer, it gave me the drive to work harder and earn it. I want to thank my angels in heaven for watching over me and my family. Last I want to thank the CEDAR RAPIDS, IA community for all of their support in helping us grow.
