We had the good fortune of connecting with Mina Rosenberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Since I was little, I was inclined towards the artistic world, from doing design in college I migrated through many different medians and genres of art. But none have grasped me like photography, It is my outlet to capture a subject’s energy and soul for all to see.
There was something in photos that always fascinated me, capturing a moment and saving it forever, struck me deeply, however, I never thought it would become. a lifelong pursuit, I have spent thousands of hours learning the craft and every time I learn something new it opens doors to new areas of knowledge and skill for me to explore.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
well you need to know I never thought I was going to be a boudoir photographer, I remember when I got my first camera, a second handle Canon, I was just fascinated about photography, It was a hobby and nothing else.
I studied design in Colombia where I am from, and I was always very artistic, but I just didn’t picture myself as a photographer, years after, I got married, and I hated my pictures, I felt they were missing emotion, vibrance, I felt there was so much more to capture, but I never said anything, then when I had my firstborn we also got a session, the photographer was a beginner like I was one day, and I also felt there was a big part missing in there, emotion!
I felt the need to learn the craft so I can deliver to my clients what I was missing in my past sessions, the soul of the interaction, couples, families, new families, or just your own essence. That key factor, that when you are looking to get in a session or just that special picture.
I wanted to deliver in each session that the emotion, tell your story with my pictures like you are in your movie and I am there to capture that part of that episode, call it life, family, love, or whatever, I am not interested to get the perfect picture, looking straight at the lens, I really want to capture just you.
I was shooting families, and newborns for 6 years and I always wanted to tell a story with my pictures now I am moving to shoot exclusively Boudoir I fell in love with it, because It is just a way to empower women, and help them to rediscover that beauty and sensuality in every each of them, it is all about emotions! that is what I want to capture in every picture.
It is also about me connecting with my clients, a session with me is just different, you will be laughing, really laughing having so much, feeling like a supermodel, rediscovering your own beauty I will try to capture your story in the best way I can, so prepare to have a really good time in an amazing location, either in my studio or outdoor with gorgeous landscaping and I will be right there just to capture all the fun, laughs and beauty, followed for my favorite part when you see your pictures best to me, that aha! moment that is just the best part for me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the outdoors, we are so lucky to live in Colorado with so many amazing landscaping, I would definitely take you to Roxborough park, to start, and then to Chatfield park, those two places are amazing, a hike in Waterton canyon, and I can not forget to mention, south valley view and the Red rocks, brunch at the social bacon club in downtown Littleton, dinner one night at Roots in Broomfield and another night at the fort in Morrison, and let’s not forget woodies pizza, in Golden.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Josh always has supported my profession and believed in me, and my kids that are my inspiration to be the best of me every day.
