We had the good fortune of connecting with Mindi Westfall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mindi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always wanted my own business and I used to create different businesses when I was little. From a restaurant, to retail I always had a business in mind. Through my amazing business coach I realized that the dream could easily become a reality with a lot of guidance and focus. Started small with online pilates classes and a few clients that came to my house for one on one sessions. This continued to grow as I was working at a local studio. Once I could see the growth in my income I decided it was time to go on my own! Now I own a Pilates Studio and a Small Up-Cycled Clothing Boutique!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think what sets me apart from others is that I am willing to go the extra mile to help people feel better in their own body. If they have an injury, I want to make sure I understand it and add to the healing process. I am most proud of working really hard the last 4 years to get to the place I am now – A business owner! I worked through the ups and downs and found what works for me. I really think the people you surround yourself with are the most important. Thinking really hard and detailed about what you want in your business, who you want to serve, what you want to be known for and how you treat people. Many situations I have been in have taught me what not to do! I realize that I am not the person for everyone and everyone is not for me and that’s ok! There are other options for people and I am willing to help them find that option. I think my brand makes people smile, feel better about themselves and want to come back for my knowledge. Using my own experience to help others is the key to my success. Understanding people and doing whatever I can to help them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My little town of Castle Rock has been working to update the downtown area for the last few years! So many amazing restaurants/bars and shops have moved in. You cannot go wrong going to Great Divide, Tribe, Dos Santos, Block & Bottle, Union Bistro for lunch or dinner. It’s a great area to walk around for an afternoon or evening. There is shopping at Mod Boutique and Amazing Lemons or the Emporium and the Barn.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
