We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Faucheux and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monica, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I expanded my business shortly after starting it to be able to incorporate heartfelt keepsakes. After losing a few dear relatives, keeping them close was important to me. As a cancer survivor, this was important to me, too. I engrave handwriting from greeting cards, notes and recipes written onto a variety of wooden surfaces. These keepsakes mean so much to those they are gifted to. I hope to continue to create heartfelt gifts like these as my business grows.
What should our readers know about your business?
Our business relies on technology to create and operate. There have been some hurdles in learning, navigating, and troubleshooting through machinery. We have learned so much in the process! We recently upgraded and are anxiously waiting on new equipment to be able to knock out larger projects faster. We’ve learned that it’s ok to not be perfect all the time and to roll with the punches. We are thankful for understanding customers that get it when things just don’t go right. Only up from here!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We moved to Janesville, Wisconsin about 4 years ago. Our favorite spots for dinner are Sandee’s, Drafthouse, or Cozumel. Since we have kiddos, some of our favorite spots to go with friends are our local parks. Janesville is lucky to have so many beautiful spots to visit. Riverside Park is beautiful and has a great splash pad with a zip line next to it. The Rotary Botanical Gardens are also a favorite spot, especially in the winter with the light show. You can’t go wrong with any of the local small businesses. Milton, Wisconsin is right next door and the 2 downtown areas are home to quite a few one of a kind shops and snack spots. Definitely worth a day trip to shop and eat.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our local community has been incredibly supportive from day 1. We are so humbled and grateful for every single person that visits us at local markets, shouts us out on social media, sends an encouraging messages, and more. Truly we would be nowhere without the support we’ve received in starting our small family business.
