Meet Monique Derouen | THE MindBody Coach


We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Derouen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monique, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work-life balance was a concept that felt unfamiliar to me. Growing up in the South, the mindset was centered around working hard, giving your all, and eagerly anticipating the weekend. But I began to question, what about the rest of the week? Was I meant to keep pushing until I was completely depleted?
This was so difficult because I had become a mother at a young age. Owning a business with toddlers brought new challenges.
Boundaries were a struggle, and self-care wasn’t even in my vocabulary especially because I cared for others, as I worked in the service industry.
Over the years I began dealing with multiple ailments, daily medications, and numerous surgeries, it wasn’t until I experienced adrenal fatigue that I realized the toll it had taken.
These experiences led me to embrace a new way of living; including discipline and a structured calendar, allocating time not only for my personal priorities but also for my family and work commitments. Today, as I manage multiple businesses, I’ve learned to carve out that essential time for myself and my family, and surprisingly my businesses have thrived as a result!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At the core of my journey is a profound belief: the body inately knows how to heal itself. I’ve dedicated my career to unraveling this truth and helping others activate the remarkable Mindbody connection.
In a world inundated with external solutions, I stand by the innate wisdom our bodies hold. Through my work, I’ve witnessed the extraordinary resilience and regenerative powers that lie within each individual. It’s not about finding a magic cure, but rather tapping into the natural rhythms and healing mechanisms that our bodies possess.
Guiding others to activate this Mindbody connection has been my privilege. Whether it’s chronic pain or emotional wounds, I’ve witnessed clients discovering their own abilities to catalyze healing. It’s a process that involves unlocking mental patterns, embracing self-care, and fostering a profound understanding of how thoughts and emotions directly impact physical well-being.
My journey hasn’t been solely about accumulating knowledge. It’s been about unearthing the profound potential within every person to heal and thrive. Through this understanding, I’ve been able to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern healing practices, empowering individuals to embark on transformative journeys of self-discovery.
So, when I reflect on my career, I stand humbly before the incredible human potential for healing. I am a facilitator, a guide, and a believer in the body’s innate wisdom. My purpose is to help others reignite their connection to this innate healing power and embark on a journey of profound well-being.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were to show my best friend the best time in the area, I’d start by hosting them at our property, the Bed and Butter. It’s a place where they can experience comfort and mountain tranquility.
For dinner, Heathers in Basalt would be an ideal choice, offering a delightful culinary experience with locally sourced ingredients.
To unwind and relax, a visit to Iron Mountain Hot Springs would be a must, allowing us to connect with the natural healing power of thermal waters.
And of course, a walk in the stunning Glenwood Canyon by the Colorado River would provide the perfect blend of nature and mindfulness, rounding out a truly memorable and holistic journey.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Jumping right in, I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to three incredibly impactful entities that have played a significant role in my journey: the ‘Self Healing Masters Membership,’ the ‘Integrative Coach Training,’ and the concept of ‘Mindbody Healing.’
The ‘Self Healing Masters Membership’ has been an invaluable platform where I’ve connected with fellow individuals on a healing journey. This community’s unwavering support, shared experiences, and wealth of knowledge have enriched my own understanding of self-care and healing. It was so impactful that I’ve partnered with this membership and now I’m a mentor in the community!
Furthermore, the ‘Integrative Coach Training’ has equipped me with the tools and insights needed to guide others in their healing process. The comprehensive training I received not only honed my coaching skills but also deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection and holistic wellness.
Lastly, the concept of ‘Mindbody Healing’ has been the cornerstone of my approach. Recognizing the intricate interplay between the mind and body has been transformative. It’s allowed me to empower others to tap into their own innate healing capacities and achieve profound well-being.
All three of these remarkable avenues deserve credit for their instrumental role in shaping my path and empowering me to assist others in their healing journeys. I’m truly grateful for the connections, knowledge, and growth they’ve brought into my life.
