We had the good fortune of connecting with Monserrat Mendoza Rojas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monserrat, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Casa Aurora Education Center is making a significant social impact through its various programs and initiatives aimed at underserved communities. First, expanding Educational Opportunities: By offering GED preparation classes and Spanish language courses, Casa Aurora is providing educational opportunities to individuals who may not have access to traditional schooling. This helps bridge the gap in education and empowers individuals with essential skills and knowledge. Empowering Individuals: Through its supportive and inclusive learning environment, Casa Aurora is empowering individuals to improve their lives and become active members of their communities. Education is a powerful tool for personal development and social mobility, and facilitating this process for underserved populations.
We relies on the support of volunteers, donors, and community partners to sustain its programs. This not only fosters a sense of community involvement but also encourages individuals and organizations to contribute to positive social change.
The Long-term Impact: by focusing on education, Casa Aurora is investing in the long-term well-being of underserved communities. Education has ripple effects that extend beyond the individual, benefiting families, neighborhoods, and society as a whole. Contributing to positive social change and creating a brighter future for all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Instead of staying in town, we’d opt for a getaway to the hot springs and spa nestled in the mountains. Exploring one of the numerous breathtaking outdoor venues and engaging in a plethora of activities would definitely be on the agenda.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Throughout my life journey, countless individuals have mentored, motivated, and guided me, but it’s the strong women who surrounded me during my upbringing that I’m especially grateful for. My great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother instilled in me the invaluable trait of resilience, shaping the person I am today.

I’m incredibly thankful for my husband, Jose, whose unwavering love and support has been a constant source of strength and encouragement in my endeavors. As the mother of a son named Angel, I aspire for him to share my passion for business and embrace it with love and dedication.

I consider myself immensely fortunate to have a circle of friends who are like-minded, driven and successful. Their presence in my life has been instrumental in my journey thus far, and I recognize that I wouldn’t have achieved what I have without them.
