We had the good fortune of connecting with Monty Ambriz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monty, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
When I started my business in real estate, I underestimated the path and perseverance in which it would take to become successful. You think that if you work hard and network you will instantly find success. I found that there is a lot of competition in my industry. You can sometimes also work extremally hard with little to no result. But I learned two very important lessons. One is, relationships over everything. Putting people and their priorities first quickly taught me how business was done. I learned that I’m not in real estate. I’m in the business of helping people with anything in the world that they needed (if I could), and the rest will fall into place, Secondly, is working for the love and passion of being an entrepreneur. This is what helped me through thought times. When I started embracing this, It changed my resolve and fortitude.
What should our readers know about your business?
One of the things that sets me apart from other real estate agents is my innate ability to put my clients first. I listen to what my clients tell me and help them make the best decisions for them, not me. People appreciate when you treat them how you would treat your own family. I am proud of building. Building relationships with local businesses, with my communities, and building with my brand. I’m excited to see the future growth of the seeds I have been planting! I really understand that, this is a long game. Putting in the hard work and connecting with people in any way I can is how I have gotten my business to where it is today. I know that nothing is ever handed to you. That is why I pride myself on how hard I work for my business and my clients.
I think if there is anything I want people to know about me and my business, is my understanding and perspective of others. I was born and raised in Colorado. My parents worked in factories my whole life; raising 3 kids, while trying to make ends meet. I know what owning a home means to those who work so hard to create a life for them and their families. I seriously fight for the ones who have helped build and establish this community. and I feel like they deserve to have a home here to call their own. That is what I want my brand to represent.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’m a big music guy so two venues that would be at the top of my list would be Red Rocks and Mishawaka Amphitheater. Two of the best places on earth to watch a show! Love the night life in downtown Loveland and Fort Collins, So while enjoying some food at my favorite restaurant: Henrys Pub and some fun at Wicked Tequila, we can still make a trip up to Old Town FTC for a fun out door festival. Northern Colorado has so many great nooks and cranny’s, but you got to explore to find them. I also love sports so going to a CSU game at the new on campus football stadium, going to a Broncos game, or a Nuggets game are hands down a incredible experience! They are always so much fun. Last but not least would be some hiking. We have breath taking mountains. So an intense hike up the Manitou Incline, a beautiful exploration to the waters of hanging lakes or a climb up the iconic Horsetooth Falls you can not go wrong. We are in gods back yard and if you ever get to experience it, you will understand why we call it that!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to thank my amazing wife! She has been the foundation and inspiration for so much of my achievements. She is always pushing me to get out of my comfort zone. I admire her insight and passion. Also, so many of my friends and family. I could never mention them all here, because it would take forever; but they are always supporting me in my business. This also includes clients and colleagues, who have become my friends and family throughout this journey. Lastly mentors: Kim Zwickle who was always there for me; in becoming a great broker. I greatly apricate you! Gary Vaynerchuk (AKA Gary Vee) who is the epitome of hustle, safe awareness, and empathy. And Ricky Carruth, who’s words of wisdom echo loudly through the real estate community, as well as in my personal business.
