We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Elizabeth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Morgan, why did you pursue a creative career?
Honestly it’s something that I’ve always loved, and always wanted to do. I just never really had enough faith in myself to do it, if that makes sense? Relying on yourself and your talents to provide for yourself, is terrifying. Especially when you don’t have very strong trust in yourself or your work. It kind of got to the point that I was just so miserable doing everything else, though, that I had to do it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It always feels weird talking about myself from a positive perspective, because I feel as though I’m so hyper critical of myself and my work. I think the thing that would set me apart is probably just the length of time I’ve been doing the things I’m doing. As a photographer, I’ve been mostly just messing around creatively for about 12, 13 years or so. From that, I’ve learned so many wild things and have been able to take part in things that I know my colleagues maybe haven’t had the chance to. On the opposite end, as a musician, I’m so new to all of it. The first time singing in a band was the band I’m in now, we’ve only been playing shows for about a year now. So having the amazing people in our lives and the opportunities we’ve had in this small amount of time has been amazing.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly just wandering around RiNo is one of the best parts of Denver, I feel. There’s so much art, so many amazing local venues for music, and probably the best food I’ve had in the city has all been down here. Apart from that, just hiking anywhere up in the mountains is always amazing, and hitting up any of the fun karaoke places in Aurora is an absolute guaranteed good time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shoutout I’d want to give is honestly just to all of my closest friends. They’re the ones who have supported me through every wild adventure I wanted to do, especially my closest friend, Julian. I know for a fact that I wouldn’t have made it this far without them in my life.
