We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Lynch + Ashlin Pickle of Pure Indigo Interiors and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie + Ashlin, let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting about 6 years ago we (Natalie and Ashlin) each had our own individual interior design businesses and had been commissioning each other to help with each others projects. Friends before ever considering being business partners, it just made sense to go into business together and start our business, Pure Indigo Interiors! We had similar visions for what we wanted our businesses to look like. With each of us having 3 kids, it was important for us both to create a business that worked for our family lives with family remaining top priority while still providing a high level of services to our clients. We love interior design in many realms and work in all of these areas: room or whole home remodels, fixed finish design and selection for new home builds, space planning, furniture design and accessories for a single room to whole home, individual space styling (home or business), seasonal room refresh/styling and design consulting.
Many things set us apart as a company. First, our amazing team! While you get a lead designer working specifically with you, the fact is that you get the eyes and expertise of 3 designers on your project instead of just one. Additionally, when working with Pure Indigo, you get a full service, personalized experience. Every detail of your space can be designed by our team, from large scale fixed finishes such as cabinetry, tile selections and countertops to furniture, rugs, lighting, and even down to the smallest of accessories – we do it all! We are confident in our process and excited about fully executing design for each space we get the opportunity to create. Last, our relationship with our clients is very important to us, and that can be felt in all of the work we do.
There are many factors behind our success, but the most important factor behind our success is staying true to who we are. It is of utmost importance to us that we do what is right and honest, and our relationships are key to our success. That includes relationships within our office, with our clients and all of the other amazing businesses we get to work with.
Is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Over the years we (Natalie and Ashlin) have come to realize how much the work of Pure Indigo Interiors impacts families and how they live their lives and function in their homes. Interior design work transforms spaces and breathes fresh life into spaces that previously felt otherwise. We are both energized by the projects where the interior design is transformative and impacts people positively, bringing them joy through the process and creates lasting impact once projects are complete. Often, people have much going on in their lives and the design work and their time with Pure Indigo offers a respite from the everyday challenges.
Outside of work with our clients, we also have worked hard to create a space where the employees that work alongside us within the business are also able to manage a work life balance that works for each individual.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our families! Our husbands have cheered for us from the beginning and have helped in endless ways. We are grateful for their unconditional support with our business and helping balance the other aspects of our life and families when Pure Indigo takes our attention! We also want to shoutout our friend, Betsy Elliott, who is a long time friend and our biggest cheerleader since the beginning of starting our business. So much so, Betsy has now joined our team as our Purchasing Manager and we are so happy to have her as a part of our team!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love to start our day with coffee from any of the charming spaces of Lima Coffee Roasters or Bindle, and often do so before meetings. A bit later in the day, we love O’dells or Cafe Vino for a happy hour with friends.
You’ll find us frequently at Bath Nursery or Gulley’s Greenhouse, as we are true plant lovers. We even have a fun plant wall in our conference room where a variety of plants are propagating! And, if we are going to take the day to get pampered, you’ll find us at Sanctuary Spa.
If we are in old town, we always pop into The Cupboard, as there are endless amazing finds to shop, and we cannot miss an opportunity to have dinner at Blue Agave, followed by a drink in the beautiful Sunset Lounge.
Our community is full of so many great places!
