Meet Nate Grabow | Owner, Pin Creatures

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Grabow and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My career has always revolved around helping people through creativity. Whether it’s graphic design, building eCommerce sites, or creating a product to share with the world. I believe joy and happiness is what makes the world spin, so I wanted to create a product that brings joy to people while they are doing something they love, golfing.

My interest in golf was sparked by my grandma during my middle school years, which ultimately led me to conceptualize and develop unique divot tools, called Pin Creatures.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nine years ago, I embarked on my career journey as a designer, which eventually led me into the realm of eCommerce. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some truly remarkable and innovative brands. Throughout this journey, I’ve always had my sights set on creating something exceptional that revolved around one of my passions. I’ve always wanted to make people laugh, and with Pin Creatures, I aimed to do that on a bigger scale. My goal was to help people connect and have fun together.

Drawing on my creativity and experience, I channeled my passion into the design of Pin Creatures divot tools. It was important to me that these tools not only looked visually appealing and sparked conversations but also functioned flawlessly. As someone deeply passionate about product quality, I was committed to ensuring that no corners were cut in the production process.

I devoted countless hours to finding the right partner who could assist me in bringing the vision of Pin Creatures divot tools to life. This involved navigating through numerous challenges, including quality control issues, packaging dilemmas, and everything in between. From sourcing the best materials to ensuring meticulous craftsmanship, every detail was scrutinized to ensure the highest standards were met.

Quality issues were among the most challenging obstacles to overcome. I was determined to produce divot tools that not only looked awesome, but withstand the test of time. This meant conducting thorough quality checks and working closely with manufacturers to address any concerns.

Packaging was another crucial aspect that required careful consideration. I wanted the packaging to reflect the quality and uniqueness of the product while also providing adequate protection during shipping. Balancing aesthetics with functionality was a delicate process, but one that was essential to delivering a great experience to customers.

Despite the hurdles encountered along the way, I remained steadfast in my commitment to delivering a product that exceeded expectations. Each setback was met with perseverance and a determination to find solutions, ultimately leading to the successful launch of Pin Creatures divot tools.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man, where to start! You know we have to explore the brewery and patio scene. Denver Beer Co, Number 38, Improper City, and Green Russel are a few places we’d grab drinks. For the food tour, we’re grabbing breakfast at Sunny’s Diner and before a Rockies game, we’re hitting up Noble Riot to grab some of the best fried chicken, potato salad, and wine in Denver (thank me later). Between all that, we’d catch a concert at Red Rocks, and hit a moderate hike.. because we all know the out-of-towners can’t handle the altitude. We couldn’t bypass a stop at Little Man’s Ice Cream or VooDoo Donuts along the way.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been my unwavering support system throughout my journey. They have stood by me through every endeavor, providing encouragement and assistance to overcome any obstacles, both in business and in life. Their steadfast belief in me has been instrumental in my success.

In particular, my grandma has been a significant source of inspiration behind Pin Creatures. She epitomizes dedication to the game of golf, spending countless hours on the course perfecting her craft. Her remarkable achievements, including scoring three hole-in-ones, are a testament to her skill and passion for the sport. Her love for golf has deeply influenced me and fueled my desire to create a product that celebrates the joy of golfing.
