We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelson Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nelson, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
SBV is a brand I created in high school with the vision of one day becoming a household name. Initially standing for Soccer, Basketball, and Video Games—activities that defined my high school years—SBV has since evolved to represent Superior, Brotherhood, and Visionaries. These core values reflect our commitment to excellence, the strong bond we share, and the clear vision that has driven the brand’s growth.

Throughout my journey, I’ve developed various business ideas and plans, many of which encountered setbacks or failed. However, these experiences have only strengthened my resolve. A key contributor to our success has been my co-CEO, Ricardo Lopez, whose partnership and dedication have been instrumental in establishing and advancing the SBV brand. Together, we continue to build on this vision, with the goal of making SBV a name recognized and respected worldwide.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In the business world, I’ve learned invaluable lessons that will stay with me for a lifetime. At a young age, it’s a blessing to have gained these experiences, which have shaped both my personal and professional growth. SBV is not only a brand but also encompasses two distinct industries—SBV Flooring and SBV Apparel.

Our flooring business stands out because of the meticulous attention to detail our teams bring to every job, as well as our commitment to exceptional customer service, which fosters trust and long-term relationships with clients. On the apparel side, SBV Apparel focuses on providing high-quality, durable gear for sporting events, while also spreading the word of the Lord.

The journey to get here has not been easy, but one of the core lessons I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance. Hard times are inevitable, but it’s how we react and overcome challenges that truly defines us. What I am most proud of is the unwavering determination of everyone involved in SBV. No matter the obstacle, we’ve all stayed committed and never given up, which is the driving force behind our continued success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As an avid outdoors enthusiast, I take great pride in the natural beauty of Colorado. If given the opportunity, I would love to host visitors and share the incredible experiences this state has to offer. From breathtaking hikes to exploring Denver’s renowned local breweries, there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy. I would guide them from Fort Collins all the way to Colorado Springs, ensuring a well-rounded experience filled with outdoor adventures and the best that Colorado has to offer. It’s a perfect mix of nature, culture, and relaxation that showcases why Colorado is so special.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
At SBV, we attribute our success to God’s guidance and the incredible people He has placed in our lives. From the very beginning, our vision has been to create a brand that stands for Superior, Brotherhood, and Visionaries. We believe these values reflect not only our commitment to excellence and strong relationships but also the faith-driven foundation upon which SBV was built.
