We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Skillman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want to leave a positive mark, I want people to remember me as a positive impact, when listening to my music I want the person listening to experience something different something they can relate to and something they can remember! I feel I bring a lot of energy to my music and I feel I am a very lyrical type of rapper that can draw attention by my punchlines and story telling raps about my life! As far as my legacy I just want my son to see you can do anything you put your mind to as long as you don’t give up!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been rapping for a lil over 7 years going on 8 years now!! I feel I bring a very cool sound with my flows and the way I ride the beat! I’ve been performing for the last 2-3 years and have opened for some big names such as token, Afro man, Chris webby, king iso, doobie, caskey, krizz kaliko, and many more! So that’s a huge accomplishment!! I have also had 2 headlines my self at 830 north chippers lane! And 1 headline at the atrium in down town fortcollins! Anyone that has been to one of my shows can tell you I def have fun with what I do!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in the city would have to be old town in fortcollins, anywhere in horsetooth moutains, poudre river is very relaxing and nice! There’s a spot called red fox meadows that is really nice! Another cool spot would be rist canyon! As far as places to eat I personally like Chick-fil-A, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden and we have AMAZING taco trucks almost everywhere!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, a huge shout out to rollin good a company that my friend kenji has came up with and I am greatfully apart of! Secondly all of my artists friends including Tyler Skillman, YungSpitta, Rigz, Glicco, Uncle Sushi, Israel Lucero, ozv, Isaiah Carter, till da grave, quad e, TLD, Taylr, Code VII, Vote 4 Pedro, Grim Keifer, Sagan Peter smith, Sardoynx, Alex da goon! Music ran through my family my sister Jessica sang very well, my dad was a lead singer in a bad for over 20 years, my mom made poems, my older brother Pat rapped, and then me and my lil brother started! And ofc the man above! God!! And then some main stream artists that influenced me as well are tech n9ne, king iso, hopsin, chris webby, jarren Benton, cordae, lil Wayne, Eminem!!
