We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Puma and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nick, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I think a lot of people come to a tattoo artist with a design in mind thinking this is the picture I want, this is not location and size I want it in. The final decision of placement and design is really or should really be up to the artist. We know what is going to hold up over time and look the best for you.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been interested in art from early age and I always found myself doing some form of art growing up in upstate New York I was surrounded by a lot of artistic influences. I didn’t discover tattooing until later in life when I joined the Navy and it just all kind of came together and created its own pathway. But like everything you need to spend a lot of hours and dedication if you want to be successful at something and I knew I wanted to have my own tattoo studio early in my career so that was always some thing I strived for besides working hard at becoming a better tattoo artist every day
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely would take them to red rocks and trying to get to Saint Mary’s glacier those are probably two of the most beautiful spots that are close by that I enjoy just kinda take it easy and hit some spots around 16th St., Mall and downtown I like Pints ..
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
