Meet Nicolas Angulo | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicolas Angulo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicolas, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career because I wanted to feel like whatever I’d be getting out of bed every morning was worth it. I wanted to shape my own future in a way that I could look back to when I’m older and remember all these moments I lived through.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art has always been about moments and trying to capture these stories as vividly and particular as they are. I’m most proud of the fact that people have hired me to capture such special moments in their lives like weddings and engagements as well as having people purchase some of art pieces of the landscapes and scenes that I’ve shot throughout my travels. It has not been easy to get to where I am now. I had to overcome self doubt which came with the comparisons that I would make about myself and my “success” but realizing that we’re all in our own journey as creatives really gave me some peace of mind and allowed me to focus on my career and my craft again.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Throughout this journey, I have my family and friends to thank. They never stopped supporting my choices and always gave me that extra push when things got difficult. My photography professor showed me what constructive criticism is and taught me so many valuable tips about this craft and art in general. And then there’s my partner who has always believed in me since day one. She’s always encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone and grow and learn from each experience.
