We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Rouillard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Integrity, honesty and results. I have always been straight up with people who have come to me for advice, help with training and athletic goals, etc… I would say it was about 50/50 of hearing what they hoped for and also things they didn’t necessarily want to hear. But within the mix I feel they felt inspired to move forward. Initially from referrals and their results of those referrals but closing it with our conversation.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was fortunate to play pro basketball with the Colorado Xplosion from 1996-1998 in the ABL before that league folded. Then after, went on to play overseas in several different countries.

I spent most of my time training hard to attain these goals, albeit, it fell short a bit but I was fortunate enough to go far that some just weren’t in the right place at the right time…

After hoops had come and gone I needed to figure out what I wanted to do with my next chapter and how it could be fulfilling and be active, too. Fulfilling in terms of making a difference for people.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
OMG, that’s why I have friends for that LOL! I personally like Jet skiing, race car driving (the bumpers LOL) sushi all day…gotta go lift at the one and only NP… and hang out let them decide what they want to do, too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There definitely is such a person….DR. Vince Lobato. He’s been the driver of my knowledge and success as an athlete, strength coach and challenge to being a better person. Included is my family, friends and the love of my life, Jen Hisey.
