We had the good fortune of connecting with Olga Avezbakiev and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olga, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
* What was your thought process behind starting your own business? – I wanted to show people that you have to be a believer, no matter what. Never give up on yourself no matter what hardships life throws at you. Don’t pay attention to people who make fun of you and say you will never accomplish anything or you are too crazy to dream. Just be you, do you for YOU. And never stop learning.

* Do you have a budget? How do you think about your personal finances and how do you make lifestyle and spending decisions? – I have a budget and my philosophy is that if you can’t buy it twice, don’t buy it at all, unless it is an investment.

* Risk taking: how do you think about risk, what role has taking risks played in your life/career? – My career started because I took a risk and started to grow my social media accounts during the pandemic. When I stopped caring what people thought of me and started to do things that I love and enjoy, my social media career took off.

* What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand? Never take “No” for an answer, keep trying and never give up. I always say that “No” is just one step closer to “Yes”.

* What value or principle matters most to you? Why? Respect other people and other people’s time. Time is the only thing in life you can’t get back.

* Work life balance: how has your balance changed over time? How do you think about the balance? My time is valuable so I plan out my schedules ahead of time. I am a big fitness fanatic and have been like this since I was a child. Fitness not only keeps me healthy, in shape, and my stress reliever but also taught me persistence, discipline, and consistency, and that dedication and hard work always pays off and wins at the end of the day. Since I have so many things to do, over time I became more organized and a better multitasker. I love to travel and discover new countries and places. Beauty and fashion help me express my fun and creative side.

* What’s the end goal? Where do you want to be professionally by the end of your career? I want to inspire people and show them that everything is possible if you put your mind to it. Stop caring what people think and just love and enjoy your life. Just be YOU and do YOU!

* Why did you pursue an artistic or creative career? From a young age, I was always passionate about photography and loved capturing moments on videos for memories.

* Tell us about a book you’ve read and why you like it / what impact it had on you. – Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. This book changed my outlook on life, my mindset, and the way I look at managing finances.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I came to the United States from the capital of Ukraine – Kyiv, in 1994. I became a US Citizen soon after. As a young woman, I had to overcome many challenges and obstacles. Living in a communist country, witnessing the fall of the USSR and its aftermath, migrating to the US, and adjusting to life here. I came to America without any English language knowledge. When I first came to America we came to this country without any money. I remember as a child going to school in the US, kids were so cruel and made fun of the way I was dressed since my mom could not afford to buy me decent clothing. This experience taught me how to save up, value money, and have an appreciation for things you have in your life. This pushed me to work harder on myself all my life and to be better than I was yesterday. But most importantly it taught me to always be kind since you never know what someone is going through.

I am a social media influencer / digital creator.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to a Safta Restaurant in Denver, Colorado. Israeli food there is so delicious! They have a great staff and amazing food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I grew up surrounded by strong women around me. My role models are my mother and grandmother. I was actually named after my maternal grandmother. Her name was also Olga and we had a very strong bond all our life until she passed away. All my childhood and most of my adult life I saw both of them work so hard. My mom took the hardest physical jobs and sacrificed her health so that her kids and grandkids could do and be what they wanted.
