We had the good fortune of connecting with Olga Halkina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olga, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The possibility of being my own boss, building something and growing it has always been exciting to me, even though it comes with a lot of risk, extra hours at work, no sick leaves and no benefits.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m originally from Russia. I came to the USA to study business and finance. After gaining my finance degree from BYU in 2007, I have invested in several businesses as well as real estate. As a single mother of 4 young kids, I’m especially grateful for the passive income I receive from my rentals, and I wanted to help and teach others about the benefits of owning real estate. I felt that my education and experience in business, finance, and real estate have prepared me for the work I do now. I love helping people change their lives weather they buy their first home or create a real estate portfolio to benefit from passive income, or need to find land for their next construction project…. Buying a home is one of the most important transactions we can have in our lives, so I make sure my buyers and sellers complete their transactions successfully in any market conditions and achieve their financial and real estate goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a difficult question! I would definitely take my friend to Glenwood Springs. I love the hot springs and the mineral caves at the Yampa spa there. Then I would take them to the Sand Dunes park and Telluride for the best outdoor activities in their lives. Stargazing at the Sand Dunes park is very interesting because that area is very dry and the sky is clear most of the time…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Would not be here today without my friends, mentors, and business partners Tatiana Torres, Lina Koval, Brandon Christian and the team at You 1st Realty, Andrew Healy and the team at Nexxus Developments, and many others.
