We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Poles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
As a yoga teacher and healer, I strive to make others feel safe and at home in my presence and in their own. One of the hardest things about finding a balanced connection between the mind, body, and soul is being able to sit with your emotions, and with that, I aim to hold that space for others. Yoga is an encompassing practice and is much more than just the physical postures, I want to be someone who is always giving back to the practice, the community, and the earth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a yogi for many years I had always dreamed of sharing my practice with others, I always felt a sense of leadership and guidance. within myself. After deciding to take a break from the traditional college path I knew that teaching yoga, working closely with others and their energy, and focusing on the wellbeing of others was calling me.

I enrolled in teacher training just 6 months ago and have been running my own small business, Indigo Moon Yoga and Wellness LLC, ever since. Among many other things, I offer yoga classes in person and virtually, healing candles, wellness memberships, yoga retreats, and much more,

As a small business, I love to stay connected with the community along with offering an inclusive environment that encourages mental freedom, balance, healing, and soul connection. I believe that living your truth will bring you success and self-compassion. Even when times become tough in this business my goal is ultimately to give back to the community and to bring others inner peace.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Although I work all over Colorado and virtually around the US, my hometown is located in Boulder, Colorado. One of my favorite things about Boulder is the emphasis on a healthy lifestyle. the perfect day in Boulder would consist of hiking in the flat irons, spending time at the creek, eating at Thrive or Leaf, taking a class at the Little Yoga Studio, and checking out some of our local businesses on the pearl street mall.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The success of the yoga industry is not about money or fame, instead, it is about unified healing and a universal understanding. That being said, the instructors and healers in this practice are the spiritual guides leading us on this journey. I attribute much of my evolution as a yoga teacher to Kelly Elle Kenworthy owner of the Little Yoga Studio in Boulder, CO. As a yoga mentor she holds true to the traditional eastern yoga ideals, holding a safe, inclusive and accessible space, she sets the example for a “business” owner in the yoga community.
