We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Maass and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pamela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my career as a Deputy District Attorney. I loved having the opportunity to serve my community. Unfortunately, I observed a negative trend. When something unexpected happened, a car accident or crime, often the family was stuck in court and conflict for many years in the probate process. Unfortunately, 70 percent of people pass away without an estate plan (a will, a trust, an incapacity plan and naming guardians). I launched my law firm with the aim of changing this statistic. My mission is to give families, business owners and individuals access to estate planning tools, so that they (in the case of incapacity) and their loved ones will always be taken care of, no matter what.

I am recently launched The Working Mom’s Podcast. A podcast that supports the modern working mom with inspiring stories and resources. Something remarkable happens when everyday women come together to share their extraordinary stories. The Working Mom’s Podcast gives the modern woman a microphone to discuss health, wealth, and relationships. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-working-moms-podcast/id1520643615
I am the first lawyer in my family and I understand that many people feel uncomfortable around lawyers. I set up my firm so that clients enjoy working with a lawyer and my team. A few ways we do this: 1) Educational and empowering process: our process is set up to give our clients a “wow” experience. 2) Flat fees: so there are no surprises. 3) Relationship based: Our flat fees allow clients to call us as much as they need, and we deliver a relationship based experience. 4) We are proactive instead of reactive.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friends were in town for a week long trip we would take them: 1) To ski or mountain bike in Winter Park or Crested Butte. We love the natural beauty of both of these places as well as the community feel. 2) In Denver we’d definitely go to Highlands, Sloan’s lake and Washington Park. I love all the unique restaurants and the natural beauty. 3) A show at Red Rocks. 4) Down south, we’d take them to Chatfield dog park, with our golden retrievers and also Roxborough State Park.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out my mentors, Attorneys Bonnie Bowles and Ali Katz from New Law Business Model. They provided me the tools and encouragement to launch my firm and to serve clients in a better way.
