We had the good fortune of connecting with Parker Orms and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Parker, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I would say determination and consistency matter the most to me.
It’s hard work running your own business and if you’re not determined, there are a lot of obstacles that can get in the way.
In business, and in sports before, being determined and disciplined always got me the furthest. I like to work hard, so I can live and play hard too!

Consistency is right in this same thread, but showing up for myself, my partner, my team and my customers everyday is probably the key to me having a successful business or not.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Although some people wouldn’t immediately pin hat making/shaping as art, I do think it’s a very artistic practice. It has taken me a long time to learn the nuances of shaping a hat to fit perfectly on anyones head, no matter the shape, while also making it fun and innovative.

Hats, inherently, are the expression of the wear-er. I help people translate their personalities into hat form and we make a masterpiece together.

Each of my employees has their unique hat talents as well when it comes to their hat creations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week long trip to Denver, I would for sure take them to a sporting event, either in Boulder or Denver.
I would make sure they stopped by my shop at Haven in Cherry Creek and maybe stop for boots at Tecovas if they didn’t have boots already!

I love nature, so Golden is always a favorite for me. I would take them tubing on the river and then to The Golden Mill.

I would make sure we went to Denver Central Market, Mister Oso, SMOK, and the Dairy Block.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so grateful for my team who has helped me grow my business everyday and to my beautiful financée for supporting me in this journey and loving me through all of the craziness that is entrepreneurship.
