We had the good fortune of connecting with Parker Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Parker, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think especially in the film / photo industry it is all about taking risks. Over the years of running the business you have to take risks often, whether that be starting free work to hopefully open more opportunities or taking on different types of shoots that you don’t have much experience with. Overall, it has definitely helped my career get to where it is now and I think as a business owner you need to take risks to progress further.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My photography / videography is about making it realistic but eye-catching. I don’t like to do any crazy color changes or super heavy edits unless requests otherwise. I would say I’m most excited about the future and upscaling of the business. I’m excited about working with new clients, meeting new people, and getting more opportunities. I’m super passionate about my photos and videos and I hope in the future it can be a full-time business with employees. It definitely has not been easy at all, just like any business there has been the ups and the downs but I personally take everything as a learning experience. I’ve learned many lessons even connecting to day-to-day life. Although I’m still learning: I have improved my patience, maturity, social skills, professionalism and so much more. I am 20 years old at the moment and started picking up the camera when I was 17. I started to take it more serious when tons of people would hit me up to shoot. We love to be more versatile so we mostly take on any type of gig no matter what the industry is.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my family for being super supportive with my business. They have invested in me and have always supported my decisions I make in the business. I would like to also shoutout ColorAuto Detailing, specifically the owner Paul for giving me my first real experience shooting videos for a business as a job. Lastly, I would like to shoutout all the people who have supported me and have shot with me so far. Without them believing in my skill, I would not be where I am today.
