We had the good fortune of connecting with Patty Candelario and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patty, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I don’t believe it is a question of giving up or to keep going. It is a call to stay curious and keep learning. There are days where it feels like things are not growing on time or I question if what I am doing is sustainable. Then, I let it breathe. I pick up a book or catch up with someone in the field I admire and I feel a spark of inspiration. Or when a client, reaches out to tell me everything is going as it should, I am overjoyed. Keep going or giving up is morphed into reinvention, inspiration and some perspiration! I have learned to listen when times are slower, I will hear something that gives me an a-ha! There it is! Let’s see where this goes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am the owner of Aries Moon Shoppe where I offer tarot and astrology readings. As a Tarot Reader and Astrologer my work revolves around seeing the beauty in life and the beauty in people. Tarot has around since the mid 1400s. Astrology is ancient! Both Tarot and Astrology have a “system” to follow and it takes dedication to study to understand the systems before you can hang an “open for business” shingle outside. I love the work I do. I truly enjoy the connection created when sitting with someone for the first time – to their 20th visit. Tarot cards are a visual tool that helps with guidance and direction to your questions. Astrology is fascinating as it is the story of you. Everyone should see and hear their story. Each person should understand how beautiful and unique they are. They can see their purpose in both Astrology and Tarot. What an incredible gift to give anyone- to be able to see this in their lives. What a joy!

Getting to where I am today happened organically. I studied and studied and would share a reading with friends and family….who told two friends and so on. I had the pleasure of reading at local businesses in Loveland (huge shout out to Willow Shaper, Valentine Flea and Black and Blues, Music and Brews) and metaphysical events. It has grown from there. Was it easy? Yes and no. I love what I do – that is the easy part. Running a small business isn’t necessarily easy. Thankfully, there are a lot of resources to help you with the running and reporting of your business. Don’t be afraid to ask questions along the way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friend comes to visit, we always end up in Estes Park. The drive there is gorgeous no matter which highway you take in. The Stanley Hotel needs little introduction. The views are spectacular anywhere you are standing.  Fort Collins is a favorite haunt. Downtown Fort Collins is a lot of fun! The favorite view is from the Sunset Lounge at the Elizabeth Hotel. The best cocktails in Loveland would be at Black and Blues, Music and Brews. A fun afternoon tour is at the Morning Fresh Dairy. The drive alone is spectacular and the tour is fun with a lot to learn!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The loudest shout out goes to my husband Joe Candelario. As a musician and artist,  he believes nothing should hold you back from expressing yourself. My Mom raised me to be unique and believe in the magic books can give you. I feel very fortunate to continue to study with the most experienced and generous teachers. Singing praises to Theresa Reed, a.k.a The Tarot Lady who is an incredible teacher and coach. I am life long astrology student with Steven Forrest – a world renowned astrologer with his 50+ years of experience. I studied yoga under Gary Kraftsow a leader in yoga traditions – he has been quoted “the hardest yoga pose is standing on your own two feet.” He is right.
