We had the good fortune of connecting with Peter Kim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Peter, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Um… It was my mom who, actually, started the shop. She saw a niche and jumped on it, a few years back. But around 2002, she developed cancer and wanted to enjoy her life. I got an SBA loan and bought her out.
From then on, I spent a considerable amount of time remodeling and rebranding to something more modern.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Everyday is difficult! Though, I’m grateful for where I am in this life. Having a business is really like having a child: it requires so much care and maintenance. Problems arise all the time, and you have to be on top of it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a buddy was visiting from out-of-town, I’d just grab bottle service at Temple or Church, get hammered together, and just enjoy the scene.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That would have to be God. I’m sure that is a touchy subject these days, but I’d be remised if I didn’t give Him any glory.
