We had the good fortune of connecting with Peyton Glynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Peyton, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks have always played a huge role in getting me to where I’m at today especially as a music artist. Looking back and realizing how different my life would be now if I never took a leap of faith is crazy to think about. I never would have imagined 10 years ago that I would travel and live in 6 different states in a span of 6 years , crafting and seasoning my musical abilities and ultimately end up in Denver. I never had much opportunity where I lived and I realized if I never took a chance on becoming the person I wanted to be then I would’ve always wondered the outcome. I didn’t want to end up in the “trap” of being a hometown hero. Safe to say If you don’t take risks , what’s the point of living
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Having moved around my whole life, traveling and living from Coast to Coast, My music brings a seasoned perspective from multiple cultures and experiences from across the US. Growing up in Louisiana, I come from a southern roots background and have also spent alot of time in Kentucky, Colorado, California, and everywhere in-between. Music has always been a part of my life having self taught myself to play multiple instruments, producing music/beats, as well as rapping and singing. I feel the thing that sets me apart is how versitile I can be in my music as well as being relatable and getting a point across in a different kind of way. I definitely have had my fair share of challenges as well as learning you can’t trust everyone in this business but in a way, i’m glad things happened the way they did because they made me into the artist I am today. I want to be a beacon of hope for the people who are going through tough times or who don’t have a voice by letting them know they aren’t alone and giving them something to relate to. I feel like I was put on this planet to help people and music is my way to give back.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely have to hit Snooze up for some breakfast, This place has become one of my favorite spots to pig out. I’ve also found a couple local eatery’s such as Avanti & Hops and Drops that give you a different kind of vibe and taste when it comes to the food. As far as nightlife goes i’d have to give it to either Viewhouse or Temple. Jojo is the homie and always knows how to show a good time to his people especially when Temple has artists in town, the energy is unmatched. Viewhouse is cool for catching games on the big screen , they usually have a DJ set up as well all night and some games so it’s always really chill. If you’re in Denver though as far as outdoors it would feel right if you didn’t check out RedRocks at least once , the amphitheater is nuts especially when other artists are in town. I also like kicking it in Evergreen they have nice views and a cool little lake to hangout at , really relaxing
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I totally agree, all of these things go a long way! I was blessed to have supportive parents in whatever aspect of life I was pursing so shout out to them! Have to show love to the people who have been there for me since day one as well, you all know who you are. I definitely have a solid circle around me, and I couldn’t ask for a better support group. I do what I do not just for me but all of us!
