Meet Phee | Aka Meredith Avery – Entertainer, Writer and Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Phee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Phee, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is everything in succeeding in life. I know I have found that anytime I take a back seat, nothing ever comes of anything for me and I might as well be living as an NPC. I have been in multiple different career fields and, be it a curse or a blessing, I have always had this aspect of my personality where I cannot and will not stay silent when there is something corrupt or even something that could be bettered, or other situations as well. Sometimes speaking up in an intelligent and logical manner still causes some waves, but when you take a risk and speak up through using logic and understanding and to the benefit of as many as possible, they usually work out quite well in the end.
The same, I have found, is true for larger business endeavors. It is always a risk venturing out on your own and going against the grain, but I have found that 100% of the times I have ventured to take that risk, it works out best not only for my benefit but for those around me as well.
Everyone has unique gifts and unique thoughts that they have, I believe, for a reason. Those thoughts and gifts are meant to be used and celebrated and reveled in by each individual for the betterment of everyone in society as a whole. The trickle down effect of the power of even one individual taking a risk and speaking up for their thoughts or finally starting their life’s dream through their own business or artistic venture is absolutely invaluable, beautiful and utterly empowering to humanity.

I am so excited to announce my Eclan Universe. This is essentially the Marvel of Music, the foundations of which are not only in production but are well underway. The introduction to my Universe is through a live performance which will include elements of theater and theatrical performance, combined with a variety show, combined with an interactive art exhibit serving as an introduction to the show itself at the entrance and, of course, my music and story line to my upcoming Eclan concept album, in production. The single for the Eclan concept album “Arrival” is available in my concept EP called “New Paradigm” available on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, etc. and the music video for “Arrival” is available on Youtube or my website at http://pheetm.com. The live show, working title “Phee’s Eclan Experience” is set for production opening night on the Spring Equinox 2023. It will be performed in four chapters, coinciding with the solstice’s and equinox’s and is set up to run cyclically with no two chapters or performances ever being the same. Stay tuned to my website for tickets and more information on the Eclan Universe and Phee’s Eclan Experience as the information is released to the public!
I got here today through my sheer tenacity and inability to be anything other than myself. I have been through seemingly endless life hurdles which have set my timeframe back farther than I would have liked, but to the perfect time by Universal standards. One of these hurdles was a ten year court battle for the rights of my daughter. When she was born it was me and her. I then made the mistake of marrying for the ease of living and her biological father came back around when she was four years old, with lawyers demanding 50/50 custody. When I came out as being polyamorous and bisexual, my marriage ended and both exs joined forces against me. I didn’t have lawyers or money like they and their families had to pour into litigation so over the past ten years, I have been representing myself and my daughter pro se, until January of 2022, earlier this year, when Judge Meinster decided that she preferred the unit of my exs raising my daughter than me (her words in her ruling) and took my rights. I went from being her primary parent her whole life to my visitation belonging to her former step-father and her biological father who was MIA throughout her predominant formative years. It was a huge setback to my life overall, preventing me from even being able to complete a college degree none the less pursue by lifelong dream of becoming a titan in entertainment or getting as close as I can at the very least. Not only was I self-representing, but every Twitter post, every Instagram story, every music video or promotional post of any benign sort was brought against me in court.
Now, I am no longer confined. They have taken everything from my daughter and myself that they have the power to take. Now, if I can’t raise HER then I am going to make damn sure I raise the world around her. And I intend to do so relentlessly and the best way I know how. Through empowering people through my art and my capabilities of building something big enough to carry the weight of people who have been through difficulties in their world. Through my Eclan Universe, every individual has the opportunity to be part of the Universe and tell their story in a chorus of artistically interpreted voices that are valid and have the right to be heard and loved.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man… there are so many good ones! I would have to say Idaho Springs and their hot springs would be stop number one if we are staying close by. Then I would take then to Red Rocks to hike through the whole park, run the stairs and sing at the top of our lungs from the stage on a random weekday morning.
For lunch or dinner I would not dare miss Clancy’s Irish Pub in Wheat Ridge. Cochino Tacos also has my favorite happy hour with their animal crackers and half and half frozen drinks no matter which way you mix and match them!
Arvada Tavern is fabulous for speakeasy mixed cocktails and blues shows.
Sloan’s Lake is a chill part of town too.
For a haircut or dreadlock services, certainly don’t miss booking with yours truly at Crisp Barbershop in Lakewood!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my mom for her undying support and love. Huge thanks also to Aaron Johnson who has been my rock. Massive thanks to my daughter, Lillian Grace, for being my biggest fan and always so supportive and excited to be a part of everything. She makes the best backup dancer I have ever seen. 🙂 Shout out also to the Pheesus Collective and the Pheeinds of Phee who have yet to make their membership known! Pidgeon pride represent!
