We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Raya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what matters most to you?
A value that matters most to me is authenticity. I truly believe in providing the best service for my clients. From customer service to deliverables, I aim for my clients to feel confident, happy, and to exceed their expectations. I am honest and want to ensure my clients are happy, I remain true to myself and to the clients I choose to work with.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a creative person my entire life. I always carried around a sketchbook and loved art. I graduated from Cal Poly, SLO with a BS in Graphic Communication, and a concentration in Web and Digital Media. I knew I wanted to work in professional sports as a Graphic Designer, and so that’s what I did. When I was 20, I moved halfway across the country for an unpaid design internship with the Chicago Sky WNBA. After the internship, I finished my last quarter of college and then took a Motion Graphics Internship with the SF Giants. I loved working in sports, but I eventually moved into the corporate world learning what I could from others and gaining skills in other areas. Along the way, I’ve learned how to be a better designer, team player, communicator and how to manage my time. These skills have taught me how to be a business owner and how to treat my clients. To be honest, my business started by accident. I bought a ton of Christmas ornaments, and began painting them for friends and family, which led to me creating stickers and then creating logos and it has just grown from there as I have a background in Graphic Design. It started with a fun project and has led to a business where I get to meet new people and help others with their businesses. It has been a fun journey and I have met so many talented and inspiring people along the way. My favorite part is seeing it come to life for my clients. If there’s something that I want people to know about me and my story, is that I want others to succeed and not be afraid to try new things. The worst that could happen is someone says no or you fail and learn from your mistakes. No one really has it all figured out, we’re all learning along the way. The only way to learn is to try and make mistakes to become a better version of ourselves. I want people to know that it’s okay to be yourself, be authentic, just treat others with respect and treat them the way you’d like to be treated.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to tour the Rockies stadium whether there’s a game of not. Bonus points if there’s a game. Then I would take them to hike the Red Rocks, hopefully when it’s warm out. I love to hike, go wine tasting, go on a trail ride and really just explore the outdoors, so lots of hiking and trying new food and bars after a day exploring.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, my family, friends, and strangers on social media deserve all the recognition. My clients who I’ve worked with, my clients who continuously work with me, and strangers who love my work and share/like/comment. They are the reason I get to do what I do.
