We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachelle Mapes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachelle, how does your business help the community?
My business is deeply committed to making a positive impact in both the biker community and our local community. With the variety of biker apparel, I aim to foster a sense of belonging and identity among bikers. Each person is unique in the way they express themselves by the vest they choose to the patches they pick out and sew on in the shop. There is no other shop around anymore like mine, so its important to do whatever I can to keep running to serve the biker community with safety and style at an affordable price.
Additionally, I believe in giving back to the community that supports us. I try to actively engage in various charities sponsoring community events, partnering with organizations that promote motorcycle safety and awareness, clothing the homeless, and donating items to help out poker runs and biker related charities.
What should our readers know about your business?
Black Sheep Company, is more than just a store for biker apparel. It’s a passionate community of riders dedicated to providing high-quality gear while making a positive impact.
I run my business with honesty and integrity, my customers can always trust that I am being truthful with the quality of products and safety. I joke that I may not be the best sales person, because if I can’t provide what they are looking for I will refer them to another local business where they can. The customers always appreciate that I wont deceive them just to make a sale.
Starting a business in 2020 did face challenges, and the location is an easy one to miss. One of the most important lessons we’ve learned is the power of community. Building a strong network of customers, partners, and supporters has been instrumental in the growth. By fostering genuine connections and listening to feedback, I’ve been able to continually improve and evolve as a brand. Working with other local businesses helps not only Black Sheep, but the entire community.
What I want the community to know about Black Sheep Co. is that this is more than just a business –It’s a part of the biker community as whole. A community of riders who are passionate about their lifestyle, committed to making a difference, and dedicated to leaving a positive impact.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Firstly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents. They instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance from a young age. Their unwavering support and encouragement have been the foundation upon which I’ve built my business and personal growth.
Secondly, I want to acknowledge the personal impact of the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. This timeless classic not only provided me with valuable insights into the principles of success but also inspired me to think beyond conventional boundaries and strive for greatness in every aspect of my life.
To both my parents and the wisdom shared in “Think and Grow Rich,” I owe a debt of gratitude for shaping me into the person I am today and guiding me on my journey towards achieving my goals.
