We had the good fortune of connecting with Rea Beaubien and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rea, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Success for me has had to do with being authentically who I am while encouraging others to do the same. Most people sense how much I care, that I am a real person with integrity as well as a loving heart. I speak in truth and value laughter as good medicine for the soul. Challenges in my life have been gifts so I may better feel for those faced with uncomfortable or sudden changes in their lives. I do not hide all the dark parts of who I am.

All of us have unique and much needed gifts we are here to shine to the world. I see this in others and feel it is my path to do all I can to share what has helped me along my path. Once I realized that I no longer needed to believe the old stories and beliefs placed upon me, I allowed myself to trust intuitive nudges, be innovative, get wild and raw, and a little dirty sometimes! We are not here to live our lives to accomodate for those around us. This is part of the true nature of being human. All we need to do is believe in ourselves and then magick happens!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The work I’ve been doing for over 20 years includes holding space for others to experience life changing ceremonies and retreats in the form of vision fasts, group prayer rituals, private journeys, and most of all community living. What sets me apart from others is that although I’ve faced extreme adversity, I’ve continued to stand for what I believe in: Unity of All Beings. When we say that all are welcomed, we mean it.

I am a woman of European descent who brings universal spiritual teachings so that ALL may flourish. This may look less than “proper” at times and not so accepted in our current culture. Being judged for how I was born has been an ongoing challenge from the time I was a young girl all the way until where I am at now. I”ve been called too small, too bold, too animal like, too much of a woman, too white, too hurt, too whatever???, you name it. I truly just want to help all of those who Spirit brings for healing. When we are in a group I don’t see color, age, sex, religion, all of it doesn’t really matter to me. There is honor in all of the stages and types of Beings of course but I prefer focusing on our likeness rather than differences. We are each a perfect aspect of the One Divine Creation.

I’m most excited about embodying and honoring the QUALITIES of the Divine Feminine. These include freedom of expressions such as creativity, emotion, intuition, sexuality, play, cooperation, compassion, nurturing, generosity, awareness, and ferocious love. I enjoy whisking away people from their day to day lives so that they may shift into new awareness, a different version of themself. In this space we remember what is most important so we are able to go back out inspired, with renewed enthusiasm. By returning to undomesticated places on our Mother earth, we are restored to the natural rhythms, tuning to the vibration of radiant health: our birthright.

Recognizing that I needed to transform, for many years I have been dedicated to working on myself. Like layers of an onion, one was peeled bringing yet another to the surface needing to be witnessed with loving attention. Countless times I went to the mountain fasting to pray for guidance. I did the work learning songs and dancing to the Sun and Moon in traditional ceremonies. I sat up for many all night ceremonies praying for help and doing my best to make the changes in my own life. With the eyes of a child I would participate in the rituals that others would lead to continue my own learning process. I have also learned that pushing to get somewhere is not always the most beneficial. Self care and taking a step back has proved to be incredibly valuable.

Overcoming difficulties has been quite a road thus far and is ongoing. As I am gradually approaching my elder time in this life, there is a calm strength that is awakening. When I return to the feeling of gratitude for the loved ones in my life, especially my children, then all seems to flow effortlessly. Daily practices utilizing ancient technologies such as tantric shamanism, yoga, a vegan diet, and yoga nidra (a form of meditation of “yogic sleep”) have all helped me tremendously. I am happy to be studying with a teacher from South India and integrating these effective methods into my work.

“Heart of Ma” radiates a vibration of love and harmony uniting all Beings. The reawakening has begun. She lives inside of you. She is that inner force that pulls us closer to our center, the ONE that is ALL. From the corners of the universe to the central fire in our heart, we are family. Our earth mother is ever present, ever ready, embracing our entirety in each moment. Do we recognize her many faces? How do we allow HER to manifest?

In her heart lies the multidimensional doorway between worlds. This is where all merges into oneness. It is always accessible, a familiar place within/out, all encompassing, without borders or judgements, existing beyond time, space, and karma. Integrity is at the core of this star as each one of us strives towards harmony in the ways that we show up in the world.

Reflecting through the past, present, and future, we are star beings made of spirit and form, sky and earth, water and fire, radiating out to fellow relatives as well as the entire cosmos. Our roots reach deep to the core of our Mother while we become increasingly connected to the vastness that is who we are. Together we reclaim the potency of our existence. Believing is the magic that transforms our realities and we will not settle for less. Magick is who we are.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend was visiting in Boulder I would take them to the Indian buffet, We’d go to the local organic juice bar, Thrive restaurant in Boulder to get some amazing raw vegan meals, Tonic would be the place for the best vegan desserts and oil infused oxygen therapy. We’d go to the Denver Art Museum and Botanical Gardens, the roller rink, ride bikes choosing one of the many trails, go to the Farmers Market, Open Mic night, see an outdoor concert, catch some ecstatic dance, hold a sweat lodge at my house, hike the trail up from Boulder at Chautauqua Park. We’d enjoy shopping in Boulder downtown. Maybe hit a thrift store or two!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sreedevi Bringi entered my life at just the right time. When I was ready to take on learning more about teachings of the east, Spirit graciously assisted in bringing her as my teacher, mentor, and a big sister (she refers to me as her little sister). For many years I’ve been practicing yoga, participating in Hindu fire ceremonies, as well as consistently joining rituals lined up with the astrological influences on the wheel of the year. Sreedevi brings a wisdom, generosity, raw feedback, and unconditional love of the Divine Mother that I have not witnessed in human form prior to meeting her. She continues to have faith in my abilities, teaches me more that nourishes my mind and soul, and calls me on my shortcomings even though sometimes it’s hard to receive! I am incredibly grateful for the deep family and teacher/student relationship we share. She holds a dear place in my heart.
