We had the good fortune of connecting with RG Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi RG, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The main motivation behind starting my own business was the freedom to formulate a process that works for me. What I mean by that is many of us have worked at a 9-5 where we have a boss that has a boss that also has a boss and it’s hard to communicate a change for the better within the that environment. So having my own business allows me to step outside of conventional thought and really bring my creativity to life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Maxed Out LLC is a multi media company covering anything from full scale TV broadcast productions all the way down to standard portrait photography. Our company has captured over 500 clients for standard portraits and we also maintain good relationships with media outlets that provide entertainment from local channels to steaming. We feel there is no project too big so even if we just consult you on what you are trying to bring to life we will definitely be able to add or subtract the factors you need to be successful on screen.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Colorado Springs allows me to have many different areas where I can take my best friend. We can start by going on the Cog Railway which I worked on when I worked for a local company called Creative Consortium. There we are the ones who turned the trains bright red with Avery wrap. After that we would come down a bit from the mountain and enjoy dinner at Jack & Tellys on Colorado Ave not far from Manitou Springs! Then I would invite him to join me at Sun Water Spa for a salt soak. I would then take him to the Porsche history museum so we can enjoy some of our favorite classics together!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to my beautiful wife who stands by me through all the things we go through trying to create something out of thin air. Her being the CFO of the company allows me to remain creative while she handles all the things that allow us as a team to stay above water. She is beyond essential. I love you darling!
