We had the good fortune of connecting with Rick & Stephanie Osborne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rick & Stephanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My husband Rick and I both come from entrepreneurial families. Working hard and taking risks to own and operate your own business were both modeled to us from an early age. I had been freelancing for newspapers throughout Southern Colorado. I started photographing families and weddings on the side while also keeping a full time job where I met Rick. Rick is such a driven and hard working person who also happened to be an amazing artist. He was super creative, learning how to use a camera gave him an outlet to use his artistry in a way that was lasting and made a big impact on the world. Photography is personal, artistic and makes a real impact on the lives of people. We officially decided to take the leap and quit our day jobs 15+ years ago! While there have been busier years and some that were slower, it has been such an amazing blessing that God has allowed us to make a living doing something we love!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a husband and wife team all of our clients get TWO primary photographers for their wedding day coverage. This is definitely unique as in our industry you typically have a primary photographer who hires a variety of different second shooters throughout their season. Either one of us could photograph the wedding alone but working together makes a huge impact on the final product. Clients not only get more photos because there are two of us, but they also get to have their day documented through two different viewpoints. Offering both a male and a female photographer gives our clients a unique experience. Grooms don’t have to be on their best behavior during say getting ready and typically feel a lot more comfortable with Rick documenting it as the develop rapport. When I am photographing the ladies they know i will definitely be dying over how cute their shoes are and so in love with their dress! Rick knows the groom will always remember seeing his bride come down the aisle and I know us ladies are so nervous making that walk but seeing the love in your grooms eyes stills your heart and is something you will never forget.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We have so many fave things to do in Denver. We are experience people so food and fun is always at the top of our list. We love visiting the Denver Zoo. Enjoying a meal at The Cheesecake Factory on 16th street is always a treat. Rick is a big sports fan so depending on the time of year taking in a Nuggets Game or spending the afternoon watching the Rockies is a must.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Whether it be professionally or personally the biggest ‘Shoutout’ we could ever give would be to God! Our bio on social media always says we love Jesus, each other and what we do and I believe that first part has made all the difference. God has been so faithful in leading us through it all! He has blessed us with amazing clients and our faith has been such an integral part making decisions and growing our business!
