Meet Riley & Matthew Skelton, Jenny Miller, Kelly Wade | Founders

We had the good fortune of connecting with Riley & Matthew Skelton, Jenny Miller, Kelly Wade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Riley & Matthew Skelton, Jenny Miller, Kelly Wade, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
:
“Our founders , consisting of Jenny Miller, Kelly Wade, Matthew Skelton, and Riley Skelton, came together to establish our business after years of successfully running our own individual operations in suite-style environments. Each of us was seeking a fresh perspective and saw an opportunity to redefine the typical booth rental salon model. We wanted to create a space that stands out—one that not only offers a place to work but also fosters a supportive, innovative, and elevated experience for the stylists who rent from us. Our goal has been to shift perceptions and set a new standard for what booth rental salons can provide.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
“At Salon Fusion, community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. We actively give back through fundraisers and by supporting local artists. For example, we showcase their work within our space, giving them the opportunity to sell their art. Any commission the salon earns from these sales is directed into a community fund. This sense of community involvement aligns with our values, particularly as two of our founders are former foster parents who wanted to continue making a meaningful impact.
In addition to our community initiatives, we differentiate ourselves by investing in our stylists. We provide mentorship, business-building resources, and monthly education—all included in their rent. We also open these educational opportunities to stylists from outside the salon and the community at an affordable rate. This combination of giving back and fostering professional growth truly defines the Salon Fusion experience.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Friends and family have always played a significant and supportive role in our success, providing encouragement and inspiration every step of the way. Additionally, collaboration with professionals—from supply house representatives and sales reps to partnerships with other salons—has been instrumental in fostering mutual support and growth. We believe that when we grow together as a community, we also grow individually, becoming stronger and more successful as a collective.
