We had the good fortune of connecting with Rio Rose Pizzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rio Rose, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
To be honest the question of keep going or just give up is something that I ask myself often. I know I will never give up, it has never been an option for me that doesn’t mean I don’t think about it sometimes. I have days that are so hard, but what always brings me back are my clients! I know every stylist probably says that they have the best clients but I truly do believe my clients are the best! They are kind, beautiful, understand and the most supportive people I have ever met. When I get to see them it blesses my day every time. I know I will never give up because of the conversations me and my clients have, the memories we share, the confidence they get after a hair appointment and the mutual love and respect we have! That’s how I know I will never give up, I need my clients to fill my life in a way that only they can! So no matter how hard things get or how discourage I am I have to keep going not only to give confidence to my clients with the best hair but to continue to fuel my soul!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Rose Beauty Lounge opened in April 2022, the name was inspired from my middle name Rose. My journey started in 2019 at Aveda Institute Denver, then worked in a Salon until March of 2022. I knew it was time for me to change where I was at but was so scared when I left my job because I had no idea where I was going to go or what I was going to do. I started looking around for the next steps and everything just fell into place and happened the way it was supposed to. I got a Salon Booth at Image Studios in Arvada and started my very own business. I love being able to do hair when I want and how I want in a space that I love! What sets Rose Beauty Lounge apart from the rest is not only my personality and talent but the fact that I started my own luxury extension line for not only my in salon clients but also other stylists for their salons! The most exciting thing about my journey is my pride and joy Rose Luxury Hair Extensions. It hasn’t been easy but it is my favorite part of what I do, not only being able to be creative in finding new colors, to naming them to making my clients feel confident and beautiful on install days! This journey hasn’t been easy but so rewarding! There have been many things that I have had to overcome along the way and I wouldn’t have been able to without the support of my family, friends and clients. I am truly beyond blessed to be able to confide in so many amazing people that want me to succeed. Whenever I need backend business help I have my mom to be able to help. When I need help with formulating or learning something new behind the chair I have my stylist friends in the building to support my creativity. When I need to vent and decompress I have the best of friends to listen. When I am looking to do more and find different opportunities for growth the owner of the building is always there. When I need to laugh and feel inspired my clients have my back. The biggest lessons that I have learned is to treat people the way you want to be treated. I have also learned to have grace with myself, I have to remember how far I have come and be proud of her while I continue to move forward. I would love the world to know that I have truly poured everything I am and have into this business. I found what I loved and was good at and have been so blessed to be able to put everything into this business. Everything that happens in the business and my clients lives is everything to me. This business is my baby and I hope everyone loves and enjoys it as much as I do!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have to start with my favorite places around me to eat because I love food! The first place we are going is Crab & Shell off Colfax, it is my favorite seafood boil spot in Denver the food is amazing, high quality and a great price! The next place we are going to eat has to be Denver Biscuit Company, amazing breakfast biscuits for breakfast or brunch ,which is my favorite meal! I also would have to take them to Sushi Katsu! Sushi is my favorite food group and there we can get the best all you can eat!
Some of my favorite day activities would be to drive up to the mountains for a day trip! Take pictures, eat in the small towns and shop! Some of my favorite place to hang out are Plant Nurseries! I love plants and picking out the perfect ones for the collection and showing my friends my passions! Denver and Arvada have so many fun things to do I wish I had more time to explore it all!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom has always been my role model since I knew the meaning of the word. She is strong, independent, giving, patient, my best friend and my biggest supporter! I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish all that I have without her! She has been by my side encouraging me to follow my dreams and making so many sacrifices for me along the way! She will always been over backwards for anyone she loves while carrying the weight of the world. She is the greatest mom to me and my brother, the best wife and an entrepreneur! She is constantly organizing fundraisers, donations and events to help people in need. Taking in family and friends that need a place of love. Making people laugh and being the light in the dark. She is a Superhero
