We had the good fortune of connecting with Rob Lohman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rob, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Belief! Belief in the fact that this is right where God has me to impact as many lives as possible, as many communities as possible and to LEAVE an impactful change of legacies for generations to come.

What should our readers know about your business?
Lifting people from the ruts of life is what my team and I do at Lifted From The Rut. Why do I care? Well…I believe there is always light at the end of the tunnel…….just depends on how long the tunnel is! Over the past few decades, I have definitely been through the ringer, AND keep bouncing back. My rap sheet includes alcohol and drug addiction, gambling addiction, divorce, bankruptcies, mental health suicide ideation, prison…along with recovery, LIFE transformation, entrepreneurship, redemption and forgiveness. That is why I do what I do now. The journey to success continues to evolve and be refined, along a sometimes windy and bumpy road with stretches of freshly laid smooth pavement and green lights. So…was the road to success easy? No, but God never said that stepping into His calling for my life would be! You see….one thing that IS, WAS and ALWAYS WILL BE, is that God has a plan for my life. He has a HOPE and A FUTURE for me…and always has. I just had on my blinders. Once those blinders were removed, I could see the plan. Through the lens of my Faith, I now see “perceived obstacles” as opportunities for miracles to happen, which is a message I pass along to my clients. Over the past 18 months, I have wrestled with changing the structure of my business…well, really the image and brand. Wrestling with the question of “God, do you want me to be a Christian who is an Interventionist, Coach and Podcaster OR do you want me to be a Christian Interventionist, Christian Coach and Christian Podcaster?” May not seem like a big difference for most people, but it has been for me. Reason being is that I have seen the most growth and LIFE TRANSFORMATION in my own personal life and in the life of my clients when Christ is at the center. My drinking career started at age 14 which led to some very dark places in my life. The climax of my drinking career happened on June 7, 2001 with a suicide attempt interrupted by the compassion of my dog Jake. Upon a divine intervention, I was freed from substance abuse addiction which began a rollercoaster ride in recovery…to which I have been substance free since that day. In year eleven (11) of my sobriety journey, I had an emotional breakdown which lead to a thirteen (13) year prison sentence, to which I realized the importance of fully understanding my identity is in Jesus Christ, NOT in my circumstances. I found my FREEDOM behind bars…who would have thought! Fortunately I was released in 10.5 months to a halfway house where I started to rebuild my life, along with my two children and wife ( who decided to remain married to me after the breakdown…to which I am very grateful). I now invest in the lives of those wanting to see positive change, whether it is coming out of addiction, prison or just wanting more for their lives. That is from where the name Lifted From The Rut comes. A rut is simply a coffin with the ends kicked out! Ready to get out of the RUT! Today is the day. Take action…reach out for help…start a new path today!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hiking and camping are two of the best ways to fall in love with Colorado! Start with a trip to COSTCO to supply up for the week, then hit the road. Starting with a 3 day, 2 night camping trip to Wellington, Lake in Bailey, Colorado. A peaceful, non-motorized lake with lakeside camping. Then head over the mountains to Buena Vista, CO for a day of whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River…followed by dinner in Leadville, CO which is the highest incorporated city in North America. Spend a couple of days in Vail, Colorado enjoying hiking trails, food, and touristy summer activities. Then over to Denver International Airport for their return trip home (although I know they will be kicking and screaming to only shortly relocate to Colorado because they caught the Rocky Mountain fever!) Wow….I am ready for that trip myself!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to Nick & Megan Unsworth at Life on Fire who coached me to taking Lifted From The Rut to the next level (March  2021 I will be launching a new 6 Month Christian Interventionist Certification Program.  There will only be 12 spots available for the training). My wife, Jen, who has endured my entrepreneurial endeavors…the ups and down…..straightaways and loops…..she has been there with me the whole time! Bob and Nancy Lohman, my parents, who, despite the inability to figure me out, have shown unconditional love since the day I took my first breath! Don McReavy and Jeff Krommendyk for shepherding me through the challenging times in my life.
