We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Chambon Kerr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking was the launch of my career. I was a stay at home mom for 20 years before I got my real estate license. Homemaking and caring for my family and community were my focus for many years. I found myself in a major season of change and was faced with the decision to take a risk on myself and start my own business in real estate. The transition turned out to be a perfect career move! Turns out as a career homemaker, I am really well equipped to help others find and make homes for themselves.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I was recently asked what my greatest strength is in my business and I knew the answer was the personalized experience I offer to each of my clients. It takes time to get to know people. It takes conversation to gain understanding. The real estate market has been moving so fast for the last several years that I think many agents lost the personalized client experience piece. We live in times where everything is automated. It is more efficient of a business model to have things automated, but you lose the personalized component. I will always strive to keep the relational aspect of the business number one for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a native to Colorado. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. When friends and family come to visit a few of my must sees/ must do’s are: *Adam’s Mountain Cafe in Manitou Springs- I’ve been enjoying their orange almond french toast and rich, black Caribou coffee since I was 19 yrs old. Locally owned and operated.
*A girls shopping trip to Eve’s Revolution- a quaint, women’s fashion boutique in Old Colorado City. Locally owned and operated for more than 20yrs.
*A round of golf at the magical Perry Park Country Club
*A relaxing soak in the Mt Princeton Hot Springs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My adult kids have been my biggest supporters and encouragers. It has been so much fun to have the role reversed. From being the mom in the stands cheering them on their whole childhood, to having them cheer me on as I started a new chapter. They are 25 and 22, both aspiring artists. Taking risks and believing in ourselves is still a worthy role to be modeled. I still strive to be a role model for them.
