We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Medina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that most everything you do in life revolves around taking risks — your career, the person you choose to marry, the way you decide to ultimately live your life it is all a calculated risk. However, you do your best to set yourself up with the best possible outcome (or odds). I was so young when I started Felicé Bridal, 22 that I am not sure that I even understood that a business could genuinely fail. I thought that you have a great idea, which at the time meant bringing new and exciting couture designers to Ft. Collins, CO and starting a brand new beautiful bridal boutique. Looking back almost 20 years later, it’s funny to think that I had no fear of failure, success seemed like the only option. Today, I realize how badly that could have gone, and how fortunate I am to still be able to be doing the one thing that I love most – styling brides and sharing such a wonderful experience with them.

What should our readers know about your business?
Felicé Bridal is an intimate bridal gown boutique in Colorado Springs, Colorado with wedding dresses curated for the modern, sophisticated bride. After 16 years of successfully running a bridal shop in (Cherry Creek) Denver, a new concept is being adapted to Felicé Bridal in Colorado Springs, one that runs by appointment only. This gives each bride the undivided attention they deserve and the freedom to view and try on our many beautiful and exclusive wedding dresses, allowing for a more customized and special experience. Each bride gets the entire boutique to themselves for a private appointment, and I think this is one of the things that makes shopping at Felicé a truly special experience.

I love to customize gowns, so that each bride feels like she has a unique style and look. I personally work with every bride that comes into the boutique, there are not other stylists. It is really important to me that the customer service and experience goes hand in hand with the quality of the gowns that are in the boutique.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would have to stay at either the Broadmoor or the Lodge at Flying Horse as both of these hotels are stunning. During the day though, we would make our way up to Denver for a little bit of shopping in my old stomping ground of Cherry Creek and stop by Garbarini and Blush downtown Denver. Lunch would definitely be either at North or the Cherry Creek Grill.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The biggest supporter on this journey for me was my mom, Karen Woronoff. She was my business partner for the first 16 years the boutique was open. I never could have imagined this wonderful dream coming to life without her and my dad — it was definitely a family business!
