We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabrina, what inspires you?
My clients inspire me everyday. Most of the them don’t even realize how brave they are to seek help from a complete stranger. To trust someone enough to open up. To understand that their life, thoughts, emotions and/or energy is out of balance and needs grounding; that really takes a lot of strength. For me it is every day people who choose to heal and release instead of suppress and ignore.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My business practice is as a holistic wellness practitioner. I am a Reiki master, trained doula, certified mediator, mindful meditation coach and spiritual mentor. I offer an ample variety of healing treatments, chakra alignments, mindful meditation classes, online mentoring, host women healing circles, and assist in home birth as a doula.
What sets me apart from others in my field is that I go the extra mile for my clients; I do this by going on quarterly healing retreats myself; so that I too can be healed and grounded.l am always working on staying up to date on my trainings. I also teach my clients how to continue in their healing journey at home. Another thing that set my services apart from others is that I fuse different healing modalities to offer a cornucopia of options; such as breathing techniques, tapping, sound therapy, chakra work, vibrational therapy, and guided mindful meditation to help them gently release blocked emotions.
I will say that the success of my business is a family effort; I like to acknowledge that I couldn’t do this alone. I want to thank my husband and children for understanding my crazy hours, dedication to my business and continuous involvement of trainings for my business. Also the loving support of my family and friends; always encouraging me, promoting my services and brain storming with me. Sometimes even serving as test subjects themselves.
This was how I was able to get to where I am today.
It definitely was not easy; starting a business in a field that was barely recognized as a professional wellness practice but instead seen as “hippy quackery pseudoscience nonsense”. It took time to build my clientele, to be considered a necessity to their wellness. It was hard at first to be taken serious even by the holistic wellness community.
I had to believe in myself and my services; I knew that my souls purpose was less about my ego and more about educating others of the phenomenal benefits of holistic healing. I’ve always focused on explaining to others how my healing services could assist as a guide in helping them manage their anxiety, stress and emotional exhaustion. To help see with clarity as well as find mental, physical, emotional and spiritual  balance.
I have learned along my journey that no two sessions or treatments are ever the same, because no two clients will ever have the same healing needs. I’ve also learned that some people will never understand my field or accept those in my field and I am good with that; as I am here to help those who seek healing, guidance and help.
I want people to know that they don’t have to settle with not feeling good. That they don’t have to suppress their feelings, that is ok not to be ok; but most importantly that selfcare is not “selfish”, taking time to ground their thoughts, balance their emotions and release energy is necessary maintenance. We must take make time to release, recharge, to reset & bring proper balance to our minds, body’s & soul’s.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was coming for a week I’d make sure to support local business’s. I’d take them up to Estes Park to see the amazing wildlife and enjoy the beautiful views, I’d take them to walk down the 16th street mall in Denver. I’d take them to walk through Garden of the Gods, I’d take them shopping in Manitou Springs. Drive them up to Buena Vista to enjoy the summer vibe, I’d make sure we spend a day at Elitches, Drive up to pikes peak, hiking historical places such as Red Rocks, Painter Mines and Pulpit Rock. Finally I’d take them to Mile High Flea Market to enjoy a delicious turkey leg and shop for oddities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this to my mother for raising me to stay true to my roots, to always honor my linage, to respect our traditions, to be kind and follow my dreams, no matter how impossible it may seem. My mother migrated from Guatemala. She came to the United States with nothing and no education; she worked hard, became a citizen, finished high school, went off to trade school to then opened up her own beauty salon. Never needing any hand outs. Her strength, determination and perseverance inspires me everyday to never give up and always move forward.
