We had the good fortune of connecting with Sadie Solstice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sadie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own business because of a near death experience I had at the age of 18. Prior to this I had always been entrepreneurial even as a young child. I would “sell” cool rocks to other kids that I had found on the playground, I would do lemonade and ice tea stands outside my home, and in high school I started making lipsticks and chokers to sell too my friends and on Etsy. I was introduced to the industry of referral marketing at 17 and it opened my eyes to possibilities I hadn’t previously considered. At the time, I was about to graduate high school and was struggling to plan the next phase of my life. The idea of going to school so I could get a job and work 40 hours a week for 40 years of my life gave me anxiety, it sounded unfulfilling and exhausting. After attending business seminars and diving into personal development, thinking I had found my path, I had my near death experience. I became a victim of domestic violence and was three months pregnant with my son. I knew I didn’t want to waste any of my time on this Earth. Instead I wanted to live my life to the fullest and check off every bucket list item I had. I became inspired to help others do the same and so I started the brand Get Life. Get Life is a lifestyle and leisure brand with a strong emphasis on building community. We’re partnered with Seacret Direct to give our community members access to affordable, luxury travel; wellness & personal care products, and an ambassadorship program that gives everyone an opportunity to earn income from home.

What should our readers know about your business?
Get Life is a lifestyle & leisure brand. Something that sets us apart from others is that we have many pillars to what we do. We have a travel program, an ambassadorship program, wellness & personal care products, and a community. Within our community we have a mission to give back to those in need. We’ve done many fundraisers, food drives, toy drives, and hygiene drives. We specifically like to give back to local organizations such as the Jeffco Action Center, Hope House, and The Center on Colfax. It hasn’t always been an easy journey and we still have a long way to go before we hit our goals as a brand. We overcome challenges by working together, having open communication with our community, and by keeping our heads in the right mindset. We put an emphasis on personal development, self help, and financial literacy.
A huge lesson I still find myself learning is how to be vulnerable with those around me in order to give themselves permission to be vulnerable. Its important that we open up to each other about the struggles we’re facing and feel brave enough to say “I am not Getting Life right now and I need to make a change.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love living in Denver and in the Edgewater area! The Edgewater Public Market is one of my favorite spots to eat and shop, especially with the merchants there being local. It’s not a trip to Colorado without doing a mountain trip, I love bringing my friends to check out Look Out Mountain or even just check out Red Rocks. The Rino Art District is another fun spot to visit and I’ve done many of my brand’s photoshoots in that area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to dedicate my shout out to all of my partners in Get Life, specifically Morgan Norman-Wallace who co-created the brand with me and coined the term “Get Life.” Without all of my amazing brand ambassadors and mentors I wouldn’t be anywhere in my business. Its truly all thanks to my team that we’ve been able to have success, I couldn’t be more grateful.
