Meet Sam Carrell | Owner/Manager Tinkerbelle The Dog & Belle The Dog

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Carrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I am extremely organized. Keeping the schedule that I keep, without organization would never work. Tinkerbelle The Dog & Belle the Dog would not be on set when needed without organization. I look at my schedule the night before and plan everything. I pack up for myself and the pups each night before preparing for the next day. Another habit that has played a huge part of my success is that I am never late. I am always early, never on time and NEVER late. Making a good impression is what builds long term work relationships.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I adopted Tinkerbelle The Dog from a shelter when she was 9 months. Never having a pet, I was clueless on what to do. I figured to socialize her, walking her would help. Well, I was right becuase this is how her acting / modeling career began. An animal talent agent saw her and within 5 months, Tinkerbelle booked her first job; a Ralph Lauren Campaign. She became the face of the campaign (video and print) and here career took off from there. Tinkerbelle’s social media account happened when someone said they wanted to follow her. So an account @TinkerbelleTheDog was set up and posting daily began. I had no idea that this would be a business – and such a successful business! Social media bookings started coming in and I was negotiating contracts, traveling and more! Between the social media accounts, creating content, shooting content AND continuing to book professional acting jobs, this was more than a full time job. It is a 24 / 7 job and i wouldn’t change a thing! And then, Belle The Dog came along from one of Tinkerbelle’s social media followers. I said no for 4 months and then one day, I said yes. Belle was on the next plane and joined me and Tinkerbelle on Valentines Day! Within 3 weeks of Belle’s arrival, she booked her first commercial. I was shocked! Belle even performed on Saturday Night Live! The resume for these 2 pups keeps growing! And the craziest part of this journey is that the pups have NO formal training. I simply talk to them and explain what they need to do.

In addition to working for my pups, I have a children’s dance school! So it is a juggling act to fit the dance school schedule in with the daily changing Tinkerbelle and Belle schedule, but, somehow, it all works out.

I believe that hard work, organization and being totally open to new things is the key to success.
