We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Kornick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sam, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, my mindset when starting my own business was a mix of frustration and determination. Since graduating from CU Boulder in 2020, I’d been working on political and brand campaigns, something I had envisioned for myself in college. While those experiences were valuable, I often felt stifled and unsatisfied in those roles. I realized I had an entrepreneurial spirit and a lot of ideas I wanted to bring to life, but I didn’t have the right outlet.
Friends and family had been nudging me towards real estate for a while, but I wasn’t initially sold on the idea. I was kind of in a mindset where if someone said up, I’d say down. But eventually, I reached where I had to seriously think about my strengths and what I wanted in life.
After a lot of reflection, I saw a clear path leading to real estate. It made sense because it combined my passion for helping people with my knack for marketing and strategy. So, I decided to get my real estate license and dive into becoming an agent. It’s been incredibly fulfilling to take control of my career and use my skills in a way that feels true to who I am.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been quite a journey! What really sets me apart from others in the real estate field is my hustle. I’m driven to succeed for my clients and love bringing my creativity and strategic approach to real estate. My background in political and brand campaigns has given me a unique perspective and strong skills in marketing and strategy, which I leverage to market properties effectively and negotiate successfully.
One thing I’m most proud of is the strong, genuine relationships I’ve built with my clients and local community. I’m not just about closing deals; I really care about helping people finding a place to call home and making the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I am always excited to take on a new listing and provide a strategic and comprehensive marketing approach that can compete in todays busy media landscape. I also think that is something that sets me apart is my age. Being young in this industry, I bring a unique prospective when helping first time homebuyers or sellers looking to elevate their homes marketing.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. One of the biggest challenges was the transition to post-grad life and trying to find my niche during a pandemic. I struggled with feeling unfulfilled in my jobs and questioning if I was good enough. The switch from political campaigns and marketing agencies to real estate was another major hurdle. But I overcame these challenges by leaning on my support system, like my mentor Chase Arnold, and continually learning and adapting. I attended workshops, sought advice from experienced agents, and never hesitated to ask questions. Being at brokerage that supports me and other agents are open to educating those new to the field has been beyond helpful as well.
A key lesson I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and adaptability. In life and the real estate market, things are unpredictable, and being able to pivot and adjust has been crucial. I’ve also learned the value of genuine relationships and the power of networking.
What I want the world to know about me and my approach to real estate is that I’m all about personalized service and genuine connections. I strive to understand each client’s unique needs and provide them with the best possible experience. My story is one of persistence, passion, and a commitment to excellence. I’m excited about the future and continuing to grow and evolve in this industry.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely, I have a few shoutouts to give. First off, a big thanks to my family and friends. Their support and encouragement have been incredible. They’ve always been there to cheer me on and remind me that I could do this, even when I had my doubts.
I also have to give a nod to my past coworkers. I’ve got to work with amazing people who saw potential in me and became great sources of support. They were always there with advice, mentorship, or just a friendly ear when I needed to vent or brainstorm.
And I can’t forget Chase Arnold, another Colorado agent at West and Main Homes, who really helped me out when I was starting. Chase took me on as his mentee and showed me the ropes of the real estate world. His guidance and willingness to share his knowledge have been super valuable, and I wouldn’t be where I am without his mentorship.
