Meet Samantha Halbrook | Beekeeping Enthusiast & Energy Practitioner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Halbrook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Freedom. When it comes to my core desires, freedom of choice is at the top of my list. The freedom to choose my own path, to plan my own days, to re-route as necessary. So when I fell in love with the way that beekeeping made me feel, it was an instant yes to creating my dream life around something that I could easily put my heart and soul into.

What should our readers know about your business?
HoneyBee You was birthed from true joy and wonder of Mother Nature and a realization that in our modern society we are often disconnected from those natural rhythms and healing abilities that nature offers. There is so much fear around honeybees, but when you actually get into a hive, the presence, the concentration, let your mind quite and focus in a way we don’t usually tape into with so much immediate distraction and pleasure at our fingertips. My favorite thing to hear people say after a Hive Visit is how relaxing it is to be around the bees – no fear remains, and people tend to glow! Not just from the relaxing hum, or the cleared mind, but also because they usually conquer a fear to some degree. The people that join my experience are self-led. They are extraordinary humans that are searching for a way to connect with the bees and are choosing to face fears and old programing that no longer serves them. It’s extraordinary to see them beaming with pride, wonder, joy and fulfillment! It has been a lot of trial and error to find this place in my business because there is this thought that “it’s hard to make money beekeeping unless you do it commercially” which has taken a lot of mindset work to rewrite for myself. Other than that, I know I do things differently than most. I chose a management style that most beekeepers disagree with, not because it’s wrong, but because they are unfamiliar. This created a lot of self-reliance and I had to create strong boundaries around knowing that what I was choosing for my beekeeping style wasn’t popular, but it sat well with my soul.
I’ve learned that sometimes you keep your dreams close to your heart, and instead of asking for approval from those around you, following what feels right and sharing THAT with the world will bring the likeminded to you. If your always looking for approval, then you will end up doing the same thing as everyone else – living the same cookie cutter life you wanted to get away from.
I like to think that I practice “intuitive beekeeping.” Where I incorporate my spiritual beliefs heavily into my business and allow my unique perspectives and practices to bring in the people that align with me. I use my shamanic teachings, energy work, magic, and beekeeping knowledge collectively to create the spaces in my business that truly feel enchanting and expansive for me, the bees, and my clients.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is, of course, a list of people that come to mind that have created pivotal moments in my entrepreneurial journey, but my beekeeping mentor, Vance Hayes, truly opened doors for me. From his beekeeping teachings to the business support, tough questions, and advise over the years – I wouldn’t have made it here without him.
