We had the good fortune of connecting with SaRa Cobb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SaRa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I always had a drawn towards building a business. Prior to starting Adorn I was a marketing consultant for a few different small companies. Watching other people build their dream companies was both inspiring & telling that it was time. I remember saying to my husband, “I’ll sell fax machines at this point, I’m just ready to start something of my own.” My sister-in-law Lilly & I had been dreaming about ways we could collaborate. She’s an incredibly creative and talented individual and I loved business. Adorn is the fruit of our talents combined.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve loved starting a business with a mission. I am most proud of how quickly we’ve build a very vertical supply chain and how many people we now employ both stateside and overseas with dignified and fair wage employment. It’s most definitely had its fair share of issues; language barriers, cultural differences, logisitcal nightmares – just to name a few. The motivating factor is the mission though and seeing artisans employed and create stability financially and emotionally is worth all the late night calls & fires we have to put out.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Steamboat is such a magical place to visit in the summer. I would most definitely plan a day doing the Zirkel Circle in North Routt, happy hour at Besame, a burger one night at Backdoor and probably take them rafting & fishing with my husband Max.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The ethics and generosity of Adorn are based off of the radical love of Jesus. With that, my sister-in-law Lilly Wilson & I built the aesthetic and idea behind Adorn which wouldn’t have been possible without her. My husband, Maxwell Cobb is the silent & faithful contributor to all that happens behind the scenes. My brother, Ben Gezon was our biggest cheerleader and backer. But really the team that makes everything happen day in and day out are our partners on the ground over seas and locally here in steamboat. The list is too long to name but Jasmine Ward, Harper Mattox, & Maggie McCutchan are our local Colorado team – incredible humans and talented, what they don’t know – they problem solve to bring us to the next level.
