We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Cook and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, what do you attribute your success to?
Being the interpreter of my own success has been paramount in sustaining my business. I’ve been teaching since 2003 and I have made lots of money, and very little money, I have worked for corporations and for myself, I have trained others and developed my own methodology. All of this has been born of the pursuit how I define success in the given stage of life. This is the beauty off entrepreneurship.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting to where I am now, which I want to call the newborn phase of sovereignty, even though I’ve been at this gig for almost 20 years, has been incredibly challenging and equally freeing. I started teaching within a corporate studio paradigm, and just started to feel like I didn’t belong. I wanted to break the rules on a pretty consistent basis, and pursued outside knowledge, which was completely against the culture. I finally was a bee to take a huge leap and begin building my brand when I was invited to teach at The Freyja Project. This has been the place where Ive been given the room to stretch my wings and to craft who I am as a teacher.
The pursuit of my authenticity has driven me 100% of the way.
Since 2020, and uncovering more strength and fortitude than I ever thought I was capable of, I can finally begin to imagine what Mind Body Battalion has the full potential to be. As I grow, as we grow, she grow, the brand that is.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best things to do always involve food, movement and nature. A long hike, maybe a 14er- early summer time is the best. Theres nothing quite like a burger and a beer after some time in the mountains. I love the good ol’ Dam brewery in Dillon. A nice long soak is a great way to rinse the day away. Halcyon Cherry Creek has a lovely rooftop pool. Some boutique shopping in Lohi/ Highlands are and some drinks afterward. What a fun time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of the credit of my story goes to my students. What we share during class is so important. There is a feedback loop that has led me to create Mind Body Battalion and the I AM movement. Watching them move, their feedback from class, learning what inspires them and what they are going through has helped build me as a teacher and creator. Additionally my family has supported my path. What a gift it has been to share this journey with my mom, sister, husband, daughter and son who have all taken my classes, come to my workshops, enrolled in my video library etc. Beyond that, when I need support they lift me up. When I’m feeling lost they remind me who I am.
And of course all of my movement and spiritual teachers to date, of whom there are many and I am beyond grateful for each of their contributions to my journey.
