We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Rohwedder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, how do you think about risk?
I don’t often use the word risk. I see each new project as an adventure. Switching careers and taking on new challenges allows us to experience so many things and helps us to spend a mile in the shoes of others.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aspen and Evergreen is a Colorado consignment in the heart of Estes Park. We represent over 70 local artists in an assortment of styles and mediums. Being a brick and mortar small business was a struggle in this modern age before the plague of covid. What i want people to know about this gallery, is four things. 1) You can buy art online, but there is no substitute for experiencing the color and emotion of a piece in real life. 2) This small business is a direct support to local artists which are in turn their own small businesses. 3)Shopping at a local gallery like ours is environmentally friendly. Keeping it local greatly reduces your carbon footprint. The artwork is not packages and shipped across the country to our gallery. It is wrapped in minimal amounts of recycled packaging and hand delivered in the most efficient manor possible. 4) Customer service is everything to us. We are fellow sojourners in this world and recognize that great customer service is a rarity in our generation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Estes Park is full of great options for shopping, dinning, and adventure. A visit to Rocky Mountain National Park is an absolute must. Then head downtown for lunch at Ed’s Cantina, followed by a stroll down Elkhorn street for both fine and souvenir shopping. Finish up your day with a fine dinner at Bird and Jim’s and perhaps catch some elk by lake Estes. Or course this is just a day one scenario. Depending on the season, there are options galore.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to all the talented artists in Colorado that make this job a delight, and to God for any and all success we achieve.
